Eli Small: This was way better than I was expecting...this knife is a beast! Quarter inch thick...pretty sharp out of the box...quick pass on the ceramic rod and it's hair popping...it's handle is fairly large and fits great in my bigger hands...grip is awesome from the texturized rubber handle...feels great in my hand...I own many expensive knives including Falkniven...ESEE...Cold steel...and I would put this knife up there with my expensive knives even though it was less than a quarter of the price for most of them...

Andrea G.: Buon coltello.

Ivan T: This is a great knife. I already chopped through a log with it with no problem and also many big branches. The full tang is very sturdy. It is even a better chopper than my backpacking axe. The shape of the blade makes it ideal for chopping wood. I like to hold it at the very end of the handle with 3 fingers and lashed to my hand. I also own the SCH52 and I can say with certainty that the SCHF9 is a much better chopper. Its just no contest. This knife just chews through wood like an axe. Batonning should be no problem with a knife this toughly built. It came out of the box very sharp and it hasn't lost any of it's edge even after some heavy use. the handle is a little fat, i must say. if only it didn't have that big bulge in the middle. also, the fit and finish is not perfect, but who cares. This knife is meant to be used and get dirty, not for hanging on a wall. I just wish they had a 9 inch blade model. The sheath is good quality nylon with what looks like a kydex core. I will be keeping it, as it does what it was designed to do just fine. It also has a side pocket which can carry a folder or a field sharpener.

David: This has become my ultimate outdoor companion. I'm thrilled with this purchase, and love everything about it.

I've been bringing this with me camping for more than a year now and it has held up brilliantly. I've used this knife for everything from preparing food to chopping wood to digging holes. It's an incredibly useful piece of sharpened steel. The 1095 carbon steel takes and holds an edge exceptionally well. The jimping on the back and the finger groove on the front really add a nice touch to the blade, and give it a bit of an extension allowing it to cut through thicker wood.

Stress tests, I've done them. Because of the low cost of this knife, I don't have any issues with beating the carbon our of this thing if I need to, and have chosen to to prove it's worth. And is hasn't disappointed, not one bit. I was camping with it at a festival (not my usual scene) and we had a lot of pre-chopped fire wood, but most of the pieces were hardwood and too big to start a fire. i started to baton with the knife, but wasn't getting too far through the hardwood and the knots since i didn't have much to hit it with. Then I found that someone brought a 20lb sledge hammer with. I...

Raphael: It was my birthday and I had a gift certificate burning through my pocket, so I decided to check out some fixed blade knives for camping/ hiking/ general outdoors usage. I've been really happy with my orange folding Endura for all of the finer cutting and slicing, but wanted something beefier for basic woodcraft and firebuilding. I am by no means a wilderness or survival expert, but I grew up camping, hiking, and occasionally short backpacking trips. Now my wife and I mostly camp in the local national forest system and enjoy less-than-rustic, mostly clear sites, so I am not constrained to weight (and this guy is a solid fellow). I already have a Ka Bar I like, so I turned to the Becker line first. I was on a pretty solid $70 budget max, so I could have covered the BK2 or the BK7 with a few extra bills and, originally, this was my plan. I was bothered by the rather simplistic looking plastic grips, upgrading to Micarta was an extra expense I couldn't afford. Then came the blade thickness. I really had wanted a 0.25 inch thick blade, which the BK2 bears proudly, but unfortunately is shaped short and fat like a trowel to me. People's only complaint about that knife seemed to be the...
