Dr.Wolfgang Ammer: Tiefenschärfe nicht gut

RevdgRevdg: I have been short-sighted since birth I find ordinary things that other people take for granted to be challenging:: waiting for the bus but not being able to see the bus number and stopping the bus only to find that it is the wrong service (again!); eating in fast food halls where all the available meals are listed in bright illuminated panels above the counter, bright enough to be seen with text too small to read. It is for circumstances like this that I bought the Roxant mini monocular. A few years ago, I bought an attractive solid monocular and i still use it on days out and so forth. It doesn’t answer my essential need , however. it is just too big to fit in a pocket. It then becomes just another item to consider when packing for the day. This makes clear one of the huge advantages of the Roxant monocular - it is so light that it can be carried in a trouser or jacket pocket without any discomfort. Its build appears sturdy and it looks as if it will survive the knocks and bumps of everyday life. Its marked as 7 x 18 in terms of magnification and brightness struck me. The 18 suggested to me that it may offer a dim image - the binoculars I use are listed as 10 x 50 so clearly a...

Mark T.: As far as the device itself is concerned:
I feel the build quality is excellent (especially at the price point). The materials seem to be very durable, ergonomically comfortable, and weather and perspiration resistant.
The rubber "armour" with raised nubs feels good in the hand and provides good purchase (good grip)- just like the handle of a well made knife should feel. The focusing ring can be operated with one hand... the same hand you are holding it with, while viewing the object you are focusing on- this is a very important operational feature for me. It provides the ability to view and turn the focusing ring simultaneously (with the same hand). It also allows the user to be discreet if viewing people- unlike using a binocular with two hands. The friction/pressure required to turn the focusing ring with just two fingers, the thumb and index finger, is just right. It can easily be turned but still hard enough to stay where you adjust it and not move inadvertantly.
I do like the rubber extensions on both the front glass and the eye piece glass. On the front, the rubber serves as protection from scratching the lens and so too, the eye piece rubber protects the lens as...

Lloyd: We started looking at binoculars but found them fiddly, borrowed a pair. You get to a place, unpack them, take of the eye caps, stow them somewhere put them to your face, adjust the angle of this put one eye here and the other sort of here, squint a bit, more adjusting and lo and behold whatever you were looking for is gone, that was never going to work. So we thought about monocular and after a quick search my wife found a reference to ROXANT. We looked at it, we looked at other pages and to be honest thought well this can’t be good it’s far too cheap and looks far too good for the price. So we ordered one. A few days later it arrived, we opened the package and there was a small box, it looked tiny, how could a …. We opened the box and lay the contents on the kitchen table and picked up the mini-scope. We both tried it looked out across the village toward the mountains and twisted the focus then put it back on the table, attached the lanyard, picked it up hung it around our neck and tried it again, we had barely said a word, I checked the package and delivery note. No this was it, we were both stunned, this was great, we could clearly see the village signs and a little...

Amazon Customer: I bought the Roxant mini monocular for my own personal use to replace a older 8x10 Bushnell monocular that I accidentally dropped and broke.
I use a small monocular like this for travel, concerts, opera, and theatrical events. This is much easier and more convenient than carrying around binoculars. It is also handy for reading road signs from a distance to get your bearings without getting out of your car. I like the Roxant design and the way it feels in the hand with the raised rubber nubs of two different types and the rubber eyecup. The price is certainly reasonable and fair, and the quality of the monocular is fine considering the relatively modest price.
The Roxant mini monocular has good optics that provide a clear and relatively bright image -- better than some others I have tried. It is also very light in weight, slim, and short for easy carry. It is also easy to focus quickly and focuses on closer images in the 9' to 10' range. That close focus feature is hard to find on monoculars.
The strongest competition in this monocular category appears to be the Carson 7x8 near focus monocular which can focus on objects as close as 10". The Carson monocular is...

Philip Slater: I do like the feel and the design. The image is surprisingly clear (considering cost) and seems to be of quality build. First I bought this scope for myself. I do like the feel and the design. It fits comfortably in my hand, and it is easy to look through and operate. I like how light it is, and that it is compact. The price seems excellent for what you get. This will be used for outdoor activities, mostly hiking and camping. Full size binoculars are pretty heavy when hiking and if you don't have them around your neck they are cumbersome to get out. By the time you do that, you have lost the bird/animal you wanted to scope. I like the neck strap, it gives a convenient way to wear it.
The price seems more than fair for what you receive, the only real issue for me is that the scope doesn’t have lens covers on either side. For me, I would rather have the lens covers and shove it in my pocket than have a belt holster. Let's say I'm hiking and I have it around my neck, and I need to take it off. If I am not using the holster I am now risking a scratch on the lens. Maybe include lens covers and make the holster an add on option?
Either way I love the scope. It doesn't go...
