Nikwax: When I needed more connections than my seven port USB 2.0 hub has been providing, I started shopping for USB 3 hubs and was disappointed by one feature that they have: really bright status lights. I had one unit that lit up my entire room at night. That’s not really a status light.

I’m delighted by this USB hub. The all metal construction feels and looks great. On off switches work well, saves me from unplugging and replugging equipment. The status lights are visible, if you’re looking for them, otherwise they aren’t, which is perfect for me. The power supply should put out sufficient power for accessories. I found the USB cable a bit short and stiff for my needs, and substituted a longer cable.

Hard drives should be on their own bus for best performance, as a busy hard drive should be able to saturate a bus. Just saying.

Bryce Wade: UPDATE: Ronsonway contacted me and told me that while I was past the Amazon return period the unit was still under warranty and I am getting a replacement. I got the replacement (in a day) and it works great. Great customer service.

When I got the hub I was impressed. Nice solid case, good tactile feel to the individual power buttons, and it worked great.

It just sat on my lab bench for a few months while I worked on other things. Then this week I cleaned up my bench and plugged it in to the computer again nothing on it worked. I did some troubleshooting trying it on a different computer and with a different, known good USB 3.0 cable, but no luck.

I'm guessing I just got a bad one, but I'm well past the return period now. At least I got a nice 12V, 3A power supply I can use somewhere else. Who knows maybe I'll order a replacement.

Morgan Beattie: I like the multiple options for usb and being able to turn them off when not in use BUT I noticed a significant delay in my Wireless mouse and keyboard when I had 6 plugs on. I was able to turn 2 off and it helped a lot which works for me for now but beware.

Athena: This helps me not just on a daily basis but on emergency basis I have two of them one that I use every day and one that I have packed away for my emergency grab bag in case of emergencies.

I absolutely love how many USB slots this has with only one standard AC/DC plug.

when I had to evacuate for a hurricane it was amazing how many people had all these devices that need to plug into available outlets this is great because you just need one AC/DC plug to power alL the USB devices

Sollus: Everything about it is awesome except for the Blue LED Power indicators. They are very difficult to see at different angles, and the power buttons are engineered on the opposite side of the LED power lights making it to where you have to look precisely to see what LED is on on one side of the hub, then reaching around and through cable to press a power button. Would be better if the buttons were below each LED indicator and the LEDs were easier to see . . . not brighter, just more surface mounted to reduce refraction. Good product though.

Edge: Si quieres usarlo con un disco duro no lo recomiendo en absoluto; frecuentemente desconecta el disco y lo vuelve a conectar, aún si está en medio de copiar o reproducir un archivo. Esto es peligroso para el disco y tengo otros hubs que no me dan ese problema incluso sin alimentación eléctrica y usando dos discos a la vez. Lamentablemente me di cuenta de este problema después de que la ventana de devoluciones había expirado.

Buena calidad de construcción, es pesado, metálico. Sin problemas conectando 8 discos duros externos auto-alimentados de 2.5'', y transfiriendo datos entre ellos.

Antonio AguileraAntonio Aguilera: The media could not be loaded.  Uso mi Mac Mini M1 (que sólo tiene 2 puertos usb) principalmente para música. Tengo 7 teclados y/o controladores MIDI que ahora, gracias a este hub de 10 puertos, los puedo conectar todos simultáneamente y aún me sobran puertos para otros dispositivos usb, como memorias, discos duros, mi iPad, etc. Además, cada puerto tiene un switch on/off que funciona de dos maneras: si la Mac está apagada, le suministra corriente al dispositivo, haciendo funcionar a los dispositivos que son stand-alone. Si la Mac está encendida, además de suministrar la corriente, monta el dispositivo en la Mac. Esto me evita completamente estar conectando y desconectando cables usb. Lo recomiendo al 100%.
