Tiffany Klemm: I couldn’t get a good before picture to show the scratch, grime, and dirt on a dvd after it was returned to me, but the results I am seeing are beyond amazing! I bought this a few years ago but had never used it, but I’m so grateful I had it when I needed it! This is definitely one of the best items I’ve ever bought on Amazon!

1Fatts: I had one of these for a number of years. The motor apparently burned out or took a dislike to me, so I spent some time researching what was available on the market.
There are professional machines that can repair disks that are beyond the capacity of this machine, but they are PROFESSIONAL machines and cost many times what this one costs.
This does a good job, certainly at maintenance and buffing, and a fair job at basic repair of simple scratches. It is well worth its price for maintaining my home DVD library.
But he who wants a pro machine is advised to buy a pro machine.

Cathleen Hendrickson: Hands down better than the manual resurface type cleaner for all discs .Great value for the money I've spent on this little machine and the replacement kit as well I to this day still use this to fix and clean DVDs, CDs and wii,ps1 &2 games after kids use them, I hate to have music skip when I'm relaxing or having a video glitch because the disc has fingerprints on the readable side this machine fixes that for me .

Laurence: In the past I've cleaned and repaired discs using a manual Hama repairer, however, as I had one disc that had a deeper scratch in it, and with my hand aching trying to polish it out with the manually operated Hama, I decided to get the Procare to ease the task.
Following the instructions I used the buffing disc first and I was horrified at how many other surface scratches that put in it, all in a circular pattern - the last thing you want from the all the advice given abou cleaning a CD or DVD. I then spent an hour trying to get those marks out.
In terms of disc performance, I started out with a disc that would read 84% of the data before any cleaning. I got it up the 91% using the Hama but still had this one scratch to remove. Whilst the Procare has removed the deep scratch it's now gone back to 87% being read due to all the other surface scratches that it's put in it! I'm back using the manual Hama again with it's seemingly better pads and polishing/repair fluid trying to get the surface to a polished finish again, and slowly getting it to read more of the data.
What's more disturbing is that I did a trial with a gash disc and found that simply using the cleaning pads...

anthony1775: I have owned my Professional DVD/CD Disc Cleaner and Reconditioner for two months and have not been pleased with its performance or design. Here's my assessment on a variety of areas.
My overall assessment is that this product is probably fine as a general maintenance item to help you maintain your DVD/CD collection in working order with regular buffing, repairing of minor blemishes, and cleaning. What it will definitely NOT do is repair scratches on poorly maintained or banged up discs. I'm not talking about deep gouges either. Even minor surface scratches will likely go unresolved. So, that begets the argument of, if you're not trying to repair scratches, but just trying to keep your stuff clean, you could probably achieve that with I cheaper DVD wipe cloth and by taking care of your stuff. My theory in purchasing this was to buy DVDs/CDs on the cheap at thrift stores usually loaded with that stuff, repair any problems typical of the discs you find at thrift stores, then rip them to my NAS device. This device couldn't handle that task. I ran into two types of discs: they were either of reasonable condition that a disc wipe could probably make them playable without the...

Andy Lowry: I had an unplayable DVD with some visible scratches, and this product fixed it. It took four passes through the buff-repair-clean cycle for the DVD to get past its problem areas. I was using VLC media player, so it was easy to know where I was seeing problems, and then to jump directly to the trouble spot to test after a repair cycle.
My first problem spot cleared up after two cycles, then I needed two more to get past two additional problem spots.
I saw a few demo videos where the people making the videos kept talking about how they could still see the scratches. Don't worry about that. This product won't make scratches disappear. The goal is to make the disc usable again. The process involves removing a tiny bit of the plastic surface of the disc, which is why for deeper scratches it may take multiple attempts, like mine did. You don't want to do this any more than you need to in order to achieve usability. Remaining visible scratches and blemishes are purely cosmetic.
One thing that I found very frustrating initially was getting the brush and the final cleaning disc out of the storage tray, especially the first time. The brush is easier after a few uses,...

Symbols Of LoveSymbols Of Love: The media could not be loaded. The entire process takes approximately 6-8 min each disc depending on the amount of work you put into it. The cleaning/buffing/repair cycles are about 60-90 seconds each and I’ve attached a short video as well.
The machine cleans well, however it DOES NOT repair discs with scratches. Any scratch that will effect the playing of the disc will not be removed by this cleaner/buffer from my experience.
I repeated the process 2-3 times and experienced a noticeable difference in the discs to the degree that fingerprints and light scratchs were removed, however I did NOT notice much difference between cleaning the disc with this machine and then cleaning another similar disc with “window cleaner and a cloth.
I wouldn’t recommend cleaning any original disc you don’t have a copy of with window cleaner/glass cleaner however I’ve done it myself with good results.
Another trick I’ve done is just plain soap and water and drying with a lint free cloth. I’ll let you be the judge: see attached photos of the process & final of window cleaner/glass cleaning application on a copied DVD.
NOTE: If you appreciated...
