eve: I was blown away by this Doctor's offering. Everyone should know this. I'm on my third reread just to get my head around this info and have sent this book on to many friends and family! I have found Brazil's Dr Cicero Coimbra's info corroborates this too! Thank you to Dr Somerville!

Aaron Cooper: For someone who doesn't do a Lot of reading I'm glad I found this book.. it's great when someone's personal life challenges inspire them to work hard for themselves and then pass that information on to help so many others.. inspiring book! A little surprised there wasn't talk of using vitamin k2 to go with the vitamin d3 but still highly value this book.

buyer: Judson Somerville's book is by far the best of all similar Vitamin D3 books and I am following his recommendations of taking the Optima D3 daily dose of 30,000 IU. However, unlike his youtube video, the book fails to mention that it is absolutely vital that co-factors are also considered and taken as well. In particular Magnesium supplement of between 400 and 800mg has to be taken daily - failure to do so, could easily lead to serious health complications, and also regular blood checks on Calcium levels - whether they are either too low or high is equally important. Starting out on 30,000 per day without these co-factors would be a big mistake. Zinc, Vitamin A carotene and Boron are less important, but also worth making sure that they are part of a daily diet when taking high doses of vitamin D3. Such a pity and potentially dangerous, that Judson had not included this info in the book. Remove this version and replace with an Update 2nd Version please.

Steve: Dr. Somerville has done an impressive job describing his long journey from healthy living life to its fullest all the way down to hitting rock bottom and then finding a way to climb back up again. His story and message is truly inspiring and you can feel the mans passion in just a short 100 pages that will leave you ready to take control of your health. I have a family that suffers from a history of numerous issues whether it be diabetes, cancer, or autoimmune issues and his work helped convince some of them to try something else as you can only go so many years suffering before living becomes unbearable and you're willing to try anything. I'm hoping for the best but the half that have already taken his advice are showing tremendous results. For the first time in 5 years I'm back to living my life as a normal person again and can only thank authors like Dr. Somerville who actually care about peoples health and emotional state because he knows first hand what they're going through.
I would highly recommend this short book to everyone and continue to do so when the opportunity arises in person.

J. FELLA: I've been studying natural medicine and nutrition for over 25 years, after getting cancer at 21. I've read a LOT of books, studies, articles, etc on many subjects. I've read four other books on vitamin D, and this one is the best, hands down. One of them was a more standard medical view on the subject, so it wasn't all that great, but it did mention some studies suggesting up to 10,000 IU's per day could be taken safely, indefinitely.
One book, by Jeff Bowles, was very informative, but wasn't written very well, and left some questions unanswered. THIS book, although not perfect, addresses vitamin D information in a way few others, if any, have. Here are some of the highlights of this book:
* How and why researchers came up with the ridiculously low RDA for vitamin D, and why it is completely and utterly wrong.
* How researchers came up with the current blood level ranges considered "safe" and again why those are very wrong, and keeping us from achieving optimal health.
* Why vitamin D, itself, is not actually the problem if you take high doses. Calcium is.
* How much you should take, to get to an optimal range in your blood levels of vitamin...

MB: Our medical system is lax in getting on board with the importance of Vitamin D sufficiency for optimal health. This doctor has paved the way and can explain it via anecdotal reports from numerous patients. I have referred this book to many people.
