martin a mayfield: Interesting book in some parts but unless you need to be told everywhere you go or buy good you need to check every ingredient in your food the. Your going to get much else from this book. Sure he breaks down the science behind it but although I’m being healthier, I am not to this point. If you are extremely into your health and super strict with your diet than this might be the book for you. It’s just not for me.

C. D. Kester: Sisson explains how and why you should change your life and eating habits for the better. My wife and I have been following a keto version of his 2 meals a day strategy and we have been feeling on top of the world.
Sisson explains in this book that 90% of your serotonin is produced in your gut rather than your brain as most would think. This explains so much, because after making better eating choices I feel not only less bloated and lethargic, but also in a much better mood with a better outlook on life in general.
If you are looking for a book to help you Jumpstart your better health journey, this is a great place to start.

YoBee07: Written in a technical but understandable manner if you're into what the body does with food. This book focuses more on creating a life plan rather than meal plan to live keto rather than just eat keto. It makes keto make sense though, and that why I like it. There are many additional resources listed in the book so grab a pen and paper (you'll be journaling anyway) and take some notes. Sisson leads to other books that are also helpful. This book also makes the keto lifestyle sound like no other source because of the IF aspect. Fasting isn't for everyone, but it's made doable following the steps and being conscious not to go crazy or beat yourself up. Definitely one I will be using. Not too many recipes and no true meal plan, but he tells you that up front. I'd purchase a keto recipe book along with this for variety if you're looking for that help.

AzDee: If you are new to primal nutrition and physical function, then you will learn about both in this book. The section on “Resources and Suggested Readings” at the end of the book could be very helpful to the novice. Although I am not an expert on these matters, a great deal of what was written in this book was not new to me after a dozen years of following a Paleo and Primal lifestyle. If you were hoping to read about intermittent fasting (such as two meals a day) as I was, skip to page 145. Although honestly there was nothing new to read about intermittent fasting either. If you are not self-disciplined, this book does have a plan to follow including journaling at the end of each chapter, as well as the 12 Day Turbocharge near the end of the book. The 42 pages of recipes are Paleo or Keto inspired. However, most of these can also be found online. While my biggest criticism of the book is “nothing new”, there are: incorrect pages references within the text, a sparse index, and lack of specific citations throughout the book. Without spending a lot of time researching (e.g. rereading whole sections instead of the inability to search a better index), I was unclear where the...
