Kenosha Boomerang: I picked this up to be able to connect a USB device straight to my Samsung galaxy phone to move files and pictures around easier. With the case on my phone for protection, I didn't have an easy time prior to purchasing this device. I no longer have to remove the case from my phone ! The only issue I have seen or experienced so far is the amount of tightness there is inserting the flash drive into the adapter. It takes a second to insert or remove the flash drive, but I believe it will wear in with time. For safety sake I insert the flash drive into the adapter first, than plug it into my phone. Very convenient and quite handy in my opinion, and would recommend this to anyone looking to do similar transfers with out the hassle of using your data/charging cable.

Felix: I must say, I'm quite impressed with the simplistic yet elegant form factor of the Rankie USB C to USB A high speed adapter! I've been looking for a simple, durable, high quality USB C to USB A adapter for my phone and I think this is it!!

I use the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and Samsung is gracious enough to actually supply a USB C to USB A adapter in the box when you purchase a phone which can be used for various purposes (most notably for data migration from Iphone to Samsung), however what annoyed me was that the USB C connector only worked if your phone was not in a case.

I use the USB C to USB A adaptors to quickly transfer data to and from my phone device when I'm on the go (like on to a USB flash drive), this becomes an utter annoyance when you have to remove your phone from the case just to use their proprietary adaptor!

Well the struggle is finally over as the Rankie USB C to USB A high speed adapter serves are the perfect replacement, and best of all, it came with two! The adapter has a little neck bezel that adds a small cushion of space between the USB A adaptor from the USB C port which makes it suitable for use when you have a phone in a case.

reliable consumer: Oh, these little things are Great! I was hesitant because the Apple Co. likes to program their products so they will not work with ANYTHING that is Not an Apple product. But the new Apple Mac Book Pro and iPad Pro do not have USB ports, only USBC ports. Therefor all of my research and work on a hundred flash drives will not marry up with the new Apple that I have. I am wasting enough of my precious time transferring all the data that I have on Discs to flash drives, I don't need to be wasting more time transferring data from one flash drive to another because APPLE is so proprietary. So this little USBC adapter is perfect. And they fit into the MAC BOOK side by side which is great.I can put a USB flash drive in one and connect the printer with the other. I am happy as a lark on a full bird feeder. (at least I will be until APPLE updates my OS to not accept these also) Another reason to not update my APPLE. Don't mess with it if it's not broke!!

Vic Acid: Fairly basic adapters. While they offer a decently snug connection for full-height USB-A male connectors, both of the adapters I received are far too loose for half-height USB-A male connectors like on YubiKeys (tested with a YK4) and some microSD to USB adapters. There's too much room vertically so that the half-height connector pins don't make contact, and too much room horizontally so that A connectors wiggle back and forth. The C end does make a decent snap into my new MBP 2016's USB-C ports, but the A end seems too shallow so it feels like you could still push the A connector further in when you really can't.

While they're decent for full-height connectors, I really need these to work with my YubiKey 4 so I have to order a bunch of competitors' products hoping they'll work better.

UPDATE 2016-12-30:
Upgrading my original assessment of the adapters from 3 to 4 stars. After posting my original review, JEDirect contacted me immediately and offered to replace my first batch of adapters to try and address my concerns. That's great customer service and a willingness to get things right :) I tried the replacements but they are still too loose for the Yubikey4. So if...
