John S. Domin: I have not had a chance to check the status of the device yet. It is supposed to allow the device to connect to my iPhone and allow the user to access an external hard drive. We’ll see if it works for me.

DarlanoSpanky: I bought this device because I needed something to allow connection of USB devices, plus charge my iPad or phone at the same time. This little device gets the job done for me!!! It's lightweight, extremely portable, and it simply works. I plug in my Wifi USB booster and my lightening cord to charge the iPad, and everything works like I expected! VERY PLEASED with this purchase!!!

Aiden B.Aiden B.: I bought this with the intention of plugging in a USB microphone. To my surprise my phone was able to recognize the microphone when it was plugged into the adapter. It made it so much easier for me to record audio through my phone, great audio anyways from a dedicated microphone. I also liked how I was able to charge my phone at the same time.
I would assume that other functions it has advertised would also work as well and would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a USB adapter for their phone. I might even try plugging in a USB drive to see if I can access files. If I do end up doing that I will update this review.

Bill in VA: I don't know how others got this to work with an external drive. I have had zero success. And mie is only 2 years old.
It works fine if you want to attach a monitor to view your photos, to move files from your phone to an SD card, etc. But that's it. My whole purpose was to get files from my cluttered iPhone, to my external drive. From that perspective, I am disappointed.
