Alex: Lengthy book with a lot of good information.

Abid HasanAbid Hasan: Not a fan of Turkeys, but hey as long as there are people who like them and willing to purchase, I don't see anything wrong with keeping some in the future when I start my family farm in the future. This book seems to give a comprehensive information on raising and keeping Turkeys. Not too surprised since Storey's Guides are usually full of information, something they share common to the Rodale Press books on Organic Farming.

Mary E. Voelker: If you want to breed/show turkeys in a serious way or keep a small commercial flock there is a lot of good information in this book.

It's not much use if you just want to raise a few turkeys in the back yard and need the basic info on getting them from poult to holiday dinner table.

jason miller: I have a decent sized size piece if land and was contemplating getting some wild turkeys just to have them. They are such majestic animals. This book gave me a lot to think about and kept me from impulsively going for it.

Daniel Fillmore: There was lots of great info here and the breeding section is for all poultry.

Audrey Tremblay: Very good book !

Tina: This book does give a brief description of different breeds, lots of information on raising turkeys, however you need to read page by page, as information is not neatly organized into chapters and subjects. Very informative, and covers all topics from incubation to death. An excellent book.

BP: Never had a problem with any of the Storey's Guide to raising series

Susan: A very well written informative book. A must have book if you are thinking you would like to raise a few Turkeys for Christmas dinner.
We have a smallholding and thought it a good idea to raise our own Turkeys, this book gave us all the information we needed to make an informed decision. Sadly we would need more land to keep the Turkeys away from our Chickens. It's all in the book about why and how.
Every farm and smallholding is different so you may decide to raise your turkeys after reading this. It also gives you good insight as to how your Turkey should be raised if you choose a near by farm or smallholding to purchase your Turkey/s from.

TrueCrimeBuff: Just now started raising a few turkeys as a hobby and as using them for pets/bug eaters. This is a great book so far for a novice like myself. I have enjoyed reading about the history of turkeys, and the various kinds of turkeys (origins, features, history, etc.). It has also educated me on how to build my pen and how to keep the flock safe and healthy. I was doing a few things wrong; I was unsure about others, but this book answered those questions. Would have liked color pics to see the difference in birds but I know that makes a book more expensive to purchase. Also, it is written as if the author is talking to you, not clinical but fun to read.
