Would recommend over the Zero water filter. Tried both and like Pur for so many reasons such as same quality water, less problems with filter smells, faster filtering, cheaper, and to me overall better product.

I don’t know if they updated their filters and lids, but a lot of these problems that others have written about the filter being slow and the lid being bad doesn’t apply to the product I received.
The set up was easy and fast, and I have been using nothing but the pitcher for a month now. I think the flavor and ergonomics are great, and the lid is fine as long as you don't fill it all the way up: you may risk spilling water from the hinge.
The only issue I have like many is that my LED light has never lit up, but I know that the filters last around 4-6 weeks. I know when I started using it, so it isn’t that big of a deal to me.
If you want to help the environment by using less bottles, then I recommend this product. It does what it says it does. The pitcher takes about 6 minutes to fill (from my own experience).

Tommy McTurtleson: Our city has way too many lead feeder pipes so they supply these jugs to affected households. As the home I am renting was under renovation when the jugs went out, I didn't get one. I did get a supply of filters from the city though. My landlord refunded me for purchasing this one to go with my free filters. Works excellent and I hope to see my blood lead levels back down to normal next time I get tested. If they aren't, I might have to write another review lol

I needed to upgrade my water filtering after the city sent me a notice saying there might be lead in my water.
I had a no-name jug and a Brita. The Brita lid had snapped off at the hinge and for that reason, and the fact that their cartridges are now hard to recycle, I decided not to continue with that company's products. I ordered a Pür and a blue lead-filter pack after reading online.
The Pür jug has two features I appreciate over the Brita. First, the lid on the fill compartment is not too heavy for its hinge. I expect the Pür fill lid to work properly over the life of the jug. Second, the fill compartment has an overflow outlet at the back (over the handle). If you overfill, you may get your hand wet but if you try pouring too soon, before a substantial quantity of water has gone through the filter, unfiltered water is not going to pour out into your glass.
The blue lead-filtering cartridges are the only ones I have used with the Pür. Filtering a full jug takes at least half an hour, although the process was faster when the filter was new. The very large size of the jug means I can work around the long filtering time, and the...

I've been using the pitcher for about a month now and it works fine. I was skeptical at first based on the reviews of how "easy" it was for the handle to break but it's really not. Breaking a handle is not as easy as people make it seem. This pitcher is large, 11 cups so of course it will be able to hold a lot of water weight. Just don't be stupid and ever SOLELY hold it by the handle because of course, at that point it's going to break. Your putting the entire weight onto the thin plastic piece. Just always use two hands to use and pour it. One hand holding the side underneath the handle and another hand on the side of the spout and when you pour, most of the weight should be on the side opposite of the pitcher from the handle. For these big pitchers, you really shouldn't be holding the actual handle ever, even with using 2 hands. Just hold underneath the handle, holding onto the actual side of the pitcher. It's very simple, it's not rocket science. Aside from that, water tastes great as well and I have had no problems with the indicator light after a month of use.
[Update 2/14/19] After using this for half a year now, I have had zero problems with it....

Well it is simple to use and stores a good amount of water. Seems like it will break easily if it falls more than 1ft, but I'm usually careful enough to avoid that. The filtered water tastes just like it came out of a plastic bottle from the store. I always used tap water in a refillable water bottle before this, but I was curious if this did anything for my health though our city's water is very good already. I can't actually comment on if it does what it says it does, but it seems to by the taste of the water. The filter life indicator is a poor idea since it only measures time the filter has been in. I use a gallon or more a day and if I followed what the indicator told me I'd be overdue by 3+ weeks for a filter change according to the number of gallons the filter can filter before replacement. That is minor though. Overall, I am satisfied. Buying replacement filters there are two options for our filters. One filters out 14 contaminants and lead, the other filters out 22 contaminants but not lead so research your local water and see which filter is best for you.
6 month update:
So I have been using this filter about 6 months now. It is still going...

DC: I debated about this. The pitcher is easy to use; easy to keep replenishing; fits nicely on the door of the refrigerator. Clearly a five star product. But if anyone has figured out how to keep the water from leaking all over the floor when you use the pitcher, please tell me! I go for weeks without any issue. ("Give it five stars!" says my inner rating voice). Then, without warning, the blasted thing dribbles water all over the counter and the floor as soon as I turn it up to pour. ("Grrrr! It doesn't even deserve one star!" says my irate inner voice.) I've tried waiting until all the water has drained from the upper chamber (the most obvious source of leaks). I've poured slowly. I've poured rapidly. I've poured while holding my breath. (Well, I've not tried that yet, to be honest). But at totally random times, and for no apparent, consistent reason, this thing loves to gush water everywhere. Still, the water is good and filling the thing is easy, so my benevolent inner voice won the argument. For now.
