LT: This is my 5th Viper reel, used this one for most of the summer without issue. I have mostly the 2k size and one 4K, and they’re all excellent reels. Super smooth, super fast, seem to be well made. I’m on my 4th season of weekly walleye fishing with my other reels so they seem to hold up well. I paired this one with a medium Ugly Stik Lite Pro and it’s been a good all around set up this summer. I expect that to be a solid combo for a while. I haven’t found a better value for a good high speed spinning reel than the Viper reels.

George: Our fishing season has finally opened but I haven't been out due to massive smoke from forest fires. I did load it with a large amount of 10 lb test monofilament and it took it very quickly and easily. I couldn't get over how fast it spooled. It has a very high gear ratio. I was pleasantly surprised it had a "no reverse" feature that assisted in spooling the line. It arrived on time and was well-packed. It's light in weight and came with an extra spool. So far I'm pleased with it and plan to buy another. I'll update after field-testing it!
