Glenn PGlenn P: The Clam Box kind of grows on you, at first it was disappointment thinking this thing was way too small for what I like to carry. I thought this was for strictly perch or crappie jigs but low and behold I managed to get a good majority of some walleye jigs, spoons and even some terminal tackle. I like it and am happy with the money spent, wish they had deeper and bigger boxes available. This will be good for days that I travel light and have limited time, will fit in my Striker Ice Climate suit pockets easily or my rod locker.

Amazon Customer: Reel will work well for panfish and other uses of that nature. Do not feel as reel will last a long time as you get what you pay for. Time will tell. Good reel for the money though and own multiple now.

Ben Nettles: I’ll cut straight to the chase, I’ve used this reel a few times a week for a couple of months now and it’s fine for what I paid for it, but I don’t think I’d recommend it.

Standout pros for this reel are it’s affordability and it’s remarkably light weight. It’s certainly not a high quality product but I was expecting much worse for the price; it’s made cheaply but not poorly. I’ve had to oil it once because it started grinding and making loud noises, but the oil got it working smoothly again.

The one MAJOR CON, and a deal-breaker for me, is that the line does not lay well on the spool, it regularly overlaps and twists my line into extremely frustrating knots. I could forgive almost any other issues for such an affordable feel, but this has cost me more in replacing line than I saved by foregoing a more competent reel.

I’ve seen many reviews here mention that the bail knocks on people’s fingers when they reel in line. I’ve experienced this but it hasn’t been a major issue for me. I could see how, if your rod grip was directly over top of the bail, that this might be a problem, but for me it is more of a minor annoyance than a real...

Jason: I paired this with a ultra light telescopic Eagle claw rod and 4lb braid and it is phenomenal. Very smooth and very quiet. Considering buying the bigger version and replacing the the other reel I just bought.
