Soil Guy 74: As everyone knows, Piscifan offers very sketchy descriptions of their products, and even less with the limited literature enclosed in the box. Purchased this reel to replace an Ambassador 5000 (old Sweden made) that was stolen. first, I would advise the buyer to take down the reel to lubricate as it contains little oil and is rough out of the box. Literature with the reel, again very, very limited, says the reel has a 10 stage magnetic cast control. After opening the reel I found 6 extremally small magnets only available on the left side by completely disassembling the reel. This type of magnetic control normally provides magnets that pull out to engage. Pulling on the small magnets in this reel resulted in pulling the magnets completely off with no stop. Perhaps the spool tension knob is meant to work in conjunction with the magnets somehow, but again, no literature to support this. My old Ambassador had brass gears while this reel has plastic gears. Not built for the long run, but not $200 either. Do not buy this reel unless you have an "educated" thumb if you intend on casting a lot. Hopefully this reel will work for me for vertical jigging stripers and 10-15 pound catfish....

Matthew: So after hours of research and video unboxings I finally decided to just send it and get the chaos xs 40. Initial unboxing left me pretty happy. Everything is clean and ready to use. The 40 is just a little too small for me, but I’m not complaining. If you’re looking for cheap quality just get this. I’m gonna pick up 3-4 more for the winter season. Didn’t know if these would do any good for salmon so I’ll come back and update this once it’s been through sone uses. I see a lot of cat fisherman getting these so I’m hopeful.

LeAnn: The Piscifun Chaos XS 50 is one of the best reels I have ever had the pleasure to own. It is the smoothest reel I have ever seen. I have some Abu Garcia Ambassadeurs but this reel beats them hands down. I love this reel so much I bought two. Handles 30lb line easily. Smooth gears and very well made. I would recommend this reel. Large catfish are no problem with this reel. Someone said this reel has plastic gears. That is a lie. This reel has beautifully cut brass gears. This reel is better made than ABU Garcia Ambassadeur reels. Yes Ambassadeur reels do have a plastic idler gear. I have had zero problems out of these reels and I do own quite a few of them. You can not go wrong buying this reel.
