Experience the convenience and efficiency of a Philips Hue Smart Motion Sensor. This installation-free exclusive for Philips Hue Lights is the best motion-activated wall switch based on customer support, easy installation, build quality, and overall performance. Integrated light sensors save energy by automatically turning off lights when the room is vacant. Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, the sensor responds to simple voice commands, making it easy to control. Plus, the Hue motion sensor helps light up a room simply by walking through the door. A Hue Hub is required for use. knorwickknorwick: This motion sensor works in conjunction with the Philips Hue mobile app and other Hue products. It will send you alert notifications to your device when motion is detected. It is small and appears to be well-built. I can't confirm but battery life appears to be good. It comes with a magnetic mount that attached to your wall.
For DIY'ers, it integrates well with Google Home Assistant, and with the Open-Source home automation software Home Assistant. These sensors are part of my home's DIY alarm system.

Alan P.: I now have 5 of these, which I’ve bought over the last 3 yrs. 3 yrs ago this was great, but now it’s good. I’d give it 5 stars if the I could use the temp changes to trigger an action in Alexa. I know Hue has some beta action attempting but hasn’t worked for me. Battery life has been great, as my older 3 oldest ones are still going strong, and have daily triggers multiple times a day. Connection to the Hue base has been perfect, except for the one in my shed, but that is acceptable being away from the house.

Charles K.: Not exactly cheap, but very reliable and fast.
I got one of the these to test out in bathroom - no issues, and I like the fact that you can set the bathroom lights to come on dimly in the middle of the night.
Response time is blazing fast, and I've never seen it fail to pick up motion, nor have I seen any lights come on spontaneously without someone there.
I've now added these to the kitchen, dining room, hallway, laundry room, and I'm awaiting an order which would allow me to add these to the living room, and den ( these last ones being an experiment in long-period-occupancy rooms with long time-out delays ).
Only place I can't see these working is in bedrooms.
Will be working on using these to control other smart devices in the home ( smart plugs for stereo, television, fans, etc ) via the Phillip's Bridge's Web API, next.

Z3PHIRZ3PHIR: Philips Hue products continue to exceed my expectations; we are so addicted to their products. The tiny Motion Sensor is a perfect and affordable addition to our collection. The back of the device fits nicely with a very strong magnet and I lucked out, it was strong enough to hold to the Drywall Corner Bead of my wall...so no drilling/anchors/screws required. We set it up in our stairway a little higher than normal as we didn't want our cats to activate the sensor.
Setup was a breeze; the Hue app found the device within seconds and setup was not as difficult as I anticipated. We only have it active late evening for a couple of hours and this was another selling point for us, I did not want the hallway lights to come on in the middle of the night to wake us all so I set it to "Do Nothing" from after 10 pm until the following evening. Motion Sensitivity can be set to Low, Medium or High (we have ours on Low due to cats) and also has a Daylight Sensitivity setting.
So far, this is one of my favourite Hue products and I am not disappointed!

Tempting Reviews: I'm not going to sit here and tell you that this is the bees knees of motion sensing technology. Rather, I will tell you that FOR THE PRICE (and trust me, the best motion sensing technologies are not this cheap), this is one of the best.
I just got mine installed for the sole purpose of detecting when I walk into the kitchen so it can turn on my under cabinet Philips Hue Lightstrip, Single, Works with Amazon Alexa purchased along with. The cabinet underside is dark despite overhead lighting because of the depth of the cabinets.
The setup was a bit finicky, only because the app lets you create a room but doesn't let you edit said room to add a light - so if you create the room before the light, it doesn't all match up like you'd expect. That's more an app issue.
Motion detecting works like gold and the app did find the motion sensor quickly and easily (unlike my Philips 456202 Hue White & Color Ambiance A19 Extension Bulb which refused to connect until I figured out that it simply wasn't making full contact in the light fixture despite being tightly screwed in).
I tested for false detects - mind you, it's only me - and it...

Kyoko Ozaki: If I had to use one word to sum up my experience with the Hue Motion Sensor, it would be "conflicted". For I have desired a product that can do what the Hue Motion Sensor does for a very long time. Yet now that I have it, I find myself wanting more.
The Hue Motion sensor does exactly what it was marketed to do, and it does its job surprisingly well. The installation was a breeze, setup was easy, and after getting used to its capabilities and limitations for a day or two, it was surprisingly easy to setup the behavior exactly as the way you like it. My lights in each room turn on instantaneously when I walk in, and shut off after a predefined amount of inactivity. It’s highly flexible too, as a piece of strong magnet simply attaches to the back (screw is optional) and sticks to all metal surfaces and some wall corners with metal beams. My favorite location to place the sensor is right over the top screw of my light switch, and it provides the best FOV for the sensor in multiple locations of my home. This kind of setup/function experience cannot be said for a significant portion of the smart home market, even Apple’s own HomeKit is significantly less reliable compared to...

Anthony: I have this set up in my walk in closet so it automatically lights up a Hue Lightstrip whenever the door opens. While it's a very expensive way to add this functionality, it works flawlessly.
I really wish they were a bit cheaper so I could add motion sensors in more locations, but alas, Philips Hue is luxury item.
