Installation is a breeze and customer support is top-notch, making this one of the best Motion-Activated Wall Switches on the market. Plus, its built-in smart sensor detects optimum daylight levels to conserve energy during the day, while its smart night light setting helps you navigate during the night without disturbing the rest. And the integrated light sensor saves energy by detecting when rooms are vacant and automatically turning off lights. It's exclusively compatible with Philips Hue Smart Bulbs and requires a Hue Hub for operation. Upgrade your home today with the Philips Hue Indoor Motion Sensor.Ed Wyrick: I have something like 15 of these, all of them triggering Alexa routines. Every now and then one will decide to quit working. I just go through the setup process again, which doesn't take much time at all. With all my devices I probably have to do that once every couple of months. They are connected by using the zigbee bridge installed in the Echo Show 10 and Echo 4th generation devices. I've seen reviews in the one star section here where people clearly didn't understand how to use these with Alexa. Press the setup button on the motion sensor, or in an older one use a paperclip or a sim extractor to enter the setup mode. Lights will begin flashing on front of the motion sensor indicating it is in the discovery mode.. In the Alexa app, hit go to devices and select the + sign. Select motion sensors, and then scroll down to "Other." DO NOT select Phillips. On the next page select Zigbee. The Alexa app goes through a discovery process and in my experience doesn't have a problem doing that. Once the unit is discovered, complete the process as you do with all devices. Then, create routines using the sensors to trigger lights to turn on or off, locks to lock out unlock, etc. I love...

ibano: If you are like me, that wants everything smart and functional, and you are much bought into the Philips Hue ecosystem, this is a no-brainer purchase. The amount of flexibility and the practicality of never have to hit a switch button is off the charts. Recommended.

Darnell Austin: I liked the motion sensor; however, as I am currently and slowly converting my home into a Smart Home, I was not ready or far enough along in the conversion to determine the best use for my smart home at this stage if the project (i.e., too soon).

LizLintner: I added this for guests-our upstairs hallway can get pretty dark, and the light switches are not obvious...I wish I had thought of this before. I had lights on timers, and other options, but this allows a quick illumination that won't leave a light on all night. So easy to set up. Will absolutely be using them in more rooms in the house.

Brian S.: Easy to setup and I put in Laundry Room because light switch is in a weird spot. I set the occupancy timeout to 10 seconds, which is the fastest. I set automation mode to restart and have three triggers... depending which one there is an action: I turn the light on from motion detected trigger, turn light on from switch trigger delay 5 min and turn light off, and turn light on from motion clear trigger (eg. after its 10 sec of no motion it detects), which starts the 5 minute delay and turns light off. Any of these three triggers will stop current automation and restarts it again.
Mounting is simple. It is magnetic so I have it stuck on a metal curtain hanger hook above window so no screws required. The mount also has a hole in it and can be screwed in with the included screw and wall anchors. The sensor then magnetically attaches to this little mount which I believe can be positioned at different angles but I just stuck mine straight in them mount because the angle is fine for a room.

Amazon Customer: As of January 2022, I can confirm YES, you are indeed able to connect this motion sensor directly to an alexa echo speaker, as long as your alexa echo speaker is one of the newer ones that supports “zigbee.” After connecting it, you can use Alexa “routines” so that when the motion sensor is triggered, something “happens” (like a light turning on). I just connected this Philips Hue Motion Sensor to my Echo 4 (which has zigbee). I do not have a Philips hub. I am not able to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor, but it does work for me. Also, since this is NOT SUPPORTED by Philips Hue, it’s possible this could stop working at a future date (I have no idea.. hopefully it will keep working…).
To connect the motion sensor to Alexa, don’t use the Hue app. Instead, go into the Alexa app on your phone, go to Devices, click the “+” button at the top to add a new device…. Choose “Motion Sensor” (the list is not in alphabetical order… so it may take a second to find this option)…. Then on the next step DO NOT CHOOSE PHILIPS HUE — instead, scroll to the bottom, and choose “Other”… next choose “Zigbee”. At this point you’ll want your motion...
