Renee R.: Basically no assembly - just fold open, similar to a ladder. There were non-skid pads for each stair tread and I like that there were also non-skid pads to stick on the bottom of the legs - don't have to worry about sliding or scratching the floor if you aren't putting on carpeting. I would have liked to get a nice set of wooden or carpeted steps, but these were in my budget and are good quality for the price. They were well packaged so there were no cracks or scratches anywhere on the item.

My dog is a 17lb mix chihuahua. The stair has some rubber stickers for the feet to not slide when the dog climbs it. My wood floor can get slippery, and I need a bung jump elastic chord to attached it to my dog's chair, so it feels firmer to her, and it doesn't slide back when she climbs it.

Also, it has some fabric padding to avoid the surface to be slippery, however the edges of the steps is not covered and it gets slippery. I got a razor and crosscut the plastic (x x x x ) to create a small grip for her feet when she steps on the edges, once she did lose her grip a few times already. The plastic is by nature slippery.

Emma Nelson-Munson: Our Frenchie keeps launching herself off the couch, so I got this to try and save her spine. We have wood floors so stairs were sliding around too much in put some hot glue dots on the bottom, and no more sliding. Frenchie uses it when she remembers, but the steps seem a little small or too close together for her. She’s a 25lb Frenchie, so she’s on the small side. Good to know for people with medium dogs.

Lisa Martinez: I put off buying stairs for my little dog because they were quite expensive for what they are, but my pup is getting older, and I finally caved in and spent the money on them. I think it was around $70 Canadian. Anyway, I have no regrets. It took less than 10 minutes for me to teach my little girl to go up the stairs by placing a reward on each step until she got up on the bed. Now it makes me smile every time she goes running in the bedroom and just climbs up on the bed by herself. I think it really makes her feel independent, not having to wait for somebody to pick her up and put her on the bed. She still won't go down them, but so far she does pretty good jumping off the bed, she just couldn't get back up, but now if she gets down in the middle of the night to get a drink of water she can get herself back up on the bed. They do take up a lot of room, but I decided it was worth it. No regrets. I recommend these stairs. I should have gotten them years ago. A good investment if you have a little dog.
