Nicole (Just A Gal Who Loves Books): The Panavise seems well-made, but unfortunately, there's a wobble in the mount so the vise head doesn't stay solid while trying to work on jewelry pieces. While filing, the vise head rocks back and forth no matter how tight the knob is. I contacted the seller and was told they would send a replacement, but no replacement was sent.

TG: Great product. Solidly built. Pairs well with the weighted base. I use this to hold PCBs when soldering, and it does a great job for that.

AP: I strongly prefer this low profile base over the standard height base for PCB work. This base lets me keep my wrists low to the bench for stability. It is solid and does it's job just fine. Rotating and tilting can feel a little notchy at times, but it locks up tight in any position.

Pauljs: I now own four Panavise base units, but this is the first low profile I've purchased. It is being used to hold a vintage articulated lamp / magnifying lens on my workbench. I had to use brass shims around the lamp base stud to fill up the receptacle in this base unit. It is bolted to my workbench, and works great with the lamp.

Tony: Been soldering circuit boards since the dawn of time and had some make shift clumsy circuit board holder. I finally broke down and spent the money to kit up a PanaVise system with 315 head and absolutely love it. I suggest also buying the 305 mini vise because the jaws on the 315 are larger and work on 75% of the boards but not so much on the small boards with components near the edge. Now I can switch between the two in a twist of the knob. Another work of advise, don't bolt it down to your bench, bolt it to a nice flat piece of hardwood with that sticky style shelf liner on the bottom, stays put, doesn't tip over, and you can move it when you want the bench back.
