Tom T.: I have used these PanaVice products for decades, both at work and home. Their simple design ensures low probability of failure, and are just the right size for working on circuit boards, and finishing small sheet metal filing. They may be excellent for other jobs, but That is not what I use them for.
I currently use 376 Self-Centering, Extra Wide Opening Head, 311 Bench Clamp Base Mount, 303 Standard Head, and 324 Electronic Work Center, and considering a tablet mount for my car.

Mike Fredericks: good for electronics assembly and repair

Max Green: Functional, but seems like PanaVise "proudly make" their products in the backyard foundry. Finishing quality is laughable.

M. Luce: For maybe 30 years I had stayed away from Panavise thinking it would be a cheap wobbly POS, made of pot metal, etc. (never saw one in real life). But this thing is great! Plenty solid and strong enough for positioning light and medium jobs. Over the years I bought several different vises and clamps, trying to get the versatility for positioning strange jobs for a little drilling or light machining in the drill press or on the workbench. This time I could not hold a certain compound angle curved plastic piece for accurate repair drilling with any of my other setups. So I bought a Panavise, which holds it nicely. I see now I should have bought it 30 years ago, and would have saved money overall and aggravation many times. Of course you still need your iron vise for hammering and bending stuff. I wish they offered the usual combinations for a better combined price, instead of having to buy each piece separately, but in the long run that won't matter, you know you'll spend some money on tools.

Sheldon: Works perfectly with a good range of motion and holds in place.
Fits into the stand (sold separately) like a glove.

Bob: Purchased a Model 303 vise head. Overall, I love the quality and versatility of Panavise products for use in my lab since many of my work projects require holding delicate microelectronic components and assemblies. The replaceable options like jaws ( i use brass and PTFE mostly) and bases, are great and always easily available ( including but not limited to Amazon), unlike many chinese vendors who manufacture and sell similar vises. Yet, when you need to purchase replacement jaws, accessories etc, they are often no longer in business. So there is something to be said for “Made in the USA”, even if some of the sub-components or assemblies are sourced in China or other worldwide suppliers.
After doing some drilling and grinding on a fixture being held in this Model 303 vise head, I cleaned up the mess I had created with high concentration isopropyl alcohol, which is my go-to lab cleaner. When it was applied to the vise surface, i noticed that the paint was dissolving or melting like a paint striper would, but in this case i was not doing it intentionally to strip the paint finish…..whoops!
Turns out the paint is actually quite durable but not durable enough for...
