Amazon Customer: We’re trying to eat healthier carbs to get more fiber…definitely not keto, but just a shift away from white rice, pasta, etc. Bought this after researching healthy options because the fiber in barley is so beneficial & it’s all stripped away in pearl barley. I was happy to find it on Amazon because hulless barley is difficult to find. Tried cooking it on the stove like I read online but after simmering for over an hour it was still extremely tough. Next time I cooked it in the slow cooker for a couple hours & it was absolutely fabulous! I used plenty of water & just drained it when it was done. It took a little extra planning but I made extra & we ate it throughout the week. It is very hearty & filling. Will definitely buy again but this huge package will last quite a while.
