Ulla: One cup of barley two cups of water a pinch of salt cook it till soft and my dog loves it
Naturally I add chicken and veggies but he likes it a lot better than rice

I enjoy cooked Pearled Barley in stews and soups. I was having a hard time finding it in stores, but found it here on Amazon. I was surprised to see the back of the package was apparently mis-printed to show cooking instructions for beans. (not Barley) And, the "Needs to be checked for Insects" warning is not reassuring. But, good to know, I guess.. (I have checked the packages several times, and have not seen any indication of insects..)
Otherwise, this barley cooks up nice and plump and succulent and delicious.
