Karen A. Peale: I don't know whether it is the supplier or the manufacturer, but this product has a short shelf life and I end up wasting some. Very difficult to find and pricey. I'm trying something else that hopefully has a longer shelf life. Why is this not sold in regular stores?

Shepherdess: As far as I am concerned, this is the best shortening out there! Have been using it for years until I couldn't find it when we first moved here, so tried the other organic brand I could find, and it didn't compare! I will always use this product (provided I can find it, that is)! And yes, I keep a couple of tubs on hand in the pantry, now....

ElizabethElizabeth: The tub of shortening came in a bubble wrap envelope.....and nothing else. no bag or plastic or lining. when I opened the envelope the tub of shortening was open, seal broken, lid upside down and contents of the tub smeared all over the inside of the envelope and sides of the container. This is unacceptable and not safe for consumption. And i will not be able to use it. I would like my money back. There is no options for zero stars.
