Enrique13Enrique13: I bought this real for a rod that was given to me. Initially I bought because I want to have a carp rig but used the first time for catfishing. On its first cast I caught a cow of a blue cat. Good response, clicker isn’t has loud as I would have like but it the job. Seems like good quality reel.

daffy: Bought 2 of these reels their a perfect size for light line,I did have to oil the reels they felt a little dry and one of the reels have a lightly stiff line feeder but the oil seemed to help.
I've used the size ABF20 for years and their still going strong hopping these will be the same

Diesels dadDiesels dad: I’ve only fish with it once so far but it sure is miles ahead in quality of the kastking sharky 111 bait runner. The sharky lasted 13 fish and sheared half the handle lugs off. The kastking rep said he owned three of them and they all did the same thing. The only thing I have noticed so far is the bail has to be in a certain position to engage the bait runner feature or it won’t click all the way forward. The above photo is from my Kastking Sharky 111 3000 bait runner after 3 weeks and 13 fresh water drum ranging from three to fifteen pounds. It didn’t last long. I have faith in the Okuma Avenger. Bought the 40 size because it was $40. I’m sure it will last for years. The Okuma bait runner drag clicker is so quiet that I can’t hear a fish run with it. Okuma needs to make a louder drag clicker.

james: I used this to fish off of the Matanzas bridge on the north Florida coast. It was bigger and more robust than the 2 Okuma 50B reels that I also used at the same time. I had some very good strikes with fish bites with a 6 Oz sinker and was able to cast my rig a long distance with an 80lb braided line. I had one hit that almost took the tied-down rod off of the bridge and my saltwater rod was almost folded in half. I was not able to see or land the fish due to a hook failure. This reel is designed and exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend you purchase this reel for large saltwater fishing. Both drags worked like my 50B reels and the fish will not feel the pull with their first run. I am pleasantly happy with my purchase!

Ryan: Great reel, sealed, holds up to saltwater very well. The drags do not like the cold at all though and will fail in winter use.
