EduardoEduardo: 25 ft Fat max will fit in there. I would say even a 30ft would fit. All you gotta do is soak it in hot water for 5 mins, then put what you want, let it dry and that’s it. Good quality leather.

jackola: Works great, should have purchased this item ages ago...would have made my life easier.
Excellent quality just takes some time to break in.

Cheray M Jerome: Made of thick durable leather. Very stiff, just needs some working in. I used mink oil to soften it up.

DebbieDebbie: The description says it will fit a 35 foot tape or a 25 foot Fatmax, this was not my experience. I had to remove pencil pockets (which I didn't need anyway), soak it in water, and stretch it to make it fit (but my tape will stay in place until I need it.) Beyond that it is made very well and I like the fact that it hangs down and is not right at the belt line. All in all I am happy with it.

RahaniRahani: My husband is a construction worker and loves top of the line things when it comes to tools as most guy’s want! It is a pricey brand but you do get your monies worth! He owns an occidental tool pouch and has had it 4 years with no complaints!
At the moment he is at a job site that doesn’t require his tool pouch although he needs his measuring tape daily so he asked me to buy him a left handed occidental holster for his tape measure... (he is left handed) Surprisingly there is no left handed holster!! So I had no choice to order this right handed one. I even googled and couldn’t find one... bummer!
When it arrived he tried it on and said he would have to get used to it since it’s was for a right handed person and the pencil is in the way.. The first few days he wore it on his left side (backwards) but got frustrated so he decided to wear it on his right side so that the pencil wouldn’t not be in the way of grabbing his tape measure.
He said reaching over a big pencil to get his tape measure out was not what he hoped for, he thought occidental made right and left handed products! Anyway he will get used to using it right handed as time goes on.

The Goat: I am renovating our home and I looked high and low for my measuring tape holster... it is just gone. I thought I could deal with clipping it to my pocket, but after a week.... two pair of jeans are already showing signs of heavy wear where I clip it. Plus my pencil is poking holes in the small pocket. And add to going up and down ladders, my pencil has fallen out more times than I care to remember.
I looked around for one and really, nothing was that good. I went to my local HD and they had a nice basic holster, but my 25' Milwaukee tape would not fit at all... not even close. Maybe a 16' would work. That is my tape of choice and though this was absurd that I couldn't find something good to work with... so I started to look around for something better. I ran across the Occidental 5047 holster.... seemed to fit the bill.... two pencil/ pen holders, clip free tape holder, and a bonus for my knife... so I bought it.
I did read that it will be tight and will take a bit of use to break in.... that is completely true! I read suggestions that you should soak it in very warm water (not hot) and then stuff it full of your tools.... that is what I did to make it work...

J.C.: If you plan on using a FatMax 8m/25' tape measure, like I do, there are 2 things you have to do.
1. Don't plan to use for about a week. That is about how long it will take you to break it in/stretch it. I first softened it up by kneading, bending, flexing it like a baseball glove (like some reviewers said). I then used some carpenter pencils I had laying around as wedges on either side of the tape measure to stretch the leather and left it for a few days, using leather oil to further soften it up also helps and not to mention it protects it also.
2. You'll have to take the original clip off for it to fit.

Wade Bradshaw: The media could not be loaded. Followed the other reviews and it fits everything perfectly. Soak the whole pouch in a bowl of warm water for a minute then take it out and put your tools in. Put some flat carpenter pencils on all sides of the tape measure while it dries in the sun. Take the pencils out and finish drying with a blow dryer and it will fit your tools like a proper leather holster. I’m using a 25’ medium width tape measure and it’s perfect; could probably hold a 35’.
