Tance: Ive had this for over a year now and its been great. The leather is high quality and durable. I leave mine in my truck and through the weather changes its not cracked. Just reconditioned it recently and its back to being incredibly soft but not flimsy.

BUT, I wasn't pleasantly surprised at the quality and sturdiness of the sheeth.
Fits the Fiskars x7 like it was made for it!
Great value for money.

JKByrnesJKByrnes: Bought this for a $29 Collins boys axe (28”) from the local Ace hardware. The sheath cost nearly as much as the axe. Was a much lighter tan color which lasted for all of about 30 seconds as I glooped on the mink oil. Before oiling it, I tested it for fit on my 5 7/8” x 3 3/4” head, and it was “oh my god” snug. PERFECT! Fought and wrestled to get it off the axe head and applied mink oil like there was no tomorrow. This resulted in the lovely dark brown tone seen in the photos. The handle, by the way, was, scraped of all lacquer, carefully flamed with a propane torch to “pop” the grain on the otherwise bland, featureless hickory handle. Then it was and will continue to be bathed in BLO. Took a very dull yellow handle and really made it look and feel terrific. Compliment with this lovely sheath and a (now) wicked-sharp edge, and I have an axe I’m very pleased with.

JackJack: I bought the H&D whip holster and this hatchet sheath. The leather on both are great. The rivets on this hatchet sheath seem pretty beefy. I soaked the sheath with sheep lanolin (as I do with all my leather goods) and put the stock, plastic blade protector on the hatchet and pushed it into the sheath. The lanolin and blade protector helped to stretch the sheath. Then I removed the rubber blade protector and the fit is just great for my Collins Hunter's hand axe. Only one bad thing. It's what I took one star off for. The snaps on both the whip holster and this sheath don't hold too tightly. If you know how to bend a snap to make it tighter you may be fine. It's what I did, I didn't really see the need to send it back. If this is a systemic problem to H&D then it wouldn't have helped. I'd still recommend this product and company.
