Anthony Cavallaro Jones: Easy click button software, disliked the fact that the software uninstalls software it deems an issue, not easy to add exceptions to smart firewall have to catch notification quick to add non threat info, can just interact with the firewall like on the microsoft firewall and easily add software folders and prgrams for exclusion. I had to diasble, the smart firewall reinstall my software turn firewall back on and click notification when it picked off the software having a file threat then exclude the progrm to remove any further issues.

whpooh: 1. Most of the ‘chatter’ that you hear is incorrect and made up by people that like ‘free stuff’
- ie: it takes over my computer, conflicts with other programs. Etc.
2. This Amazon version requires you to sign up for auto-renew to register it (that is why it is cheaper for the year subscription) but you can cancel the auto-renew right after you register your current copy. Enjoy the small cost for a great product.
3. You really can’t install antivirus on an infected computer, it will cause issues installing, running , and updating any antivirus software.
4. You should have your system professionally cleaned up before you install any antivirus. Norton supplies a tool to help you if your system is in a ‘bad way’ called Norton Power Eraser, NPE – which is a free download. Run it first to get most of the really bad stuff, then you can install your new Norton Antivirus
5. Every company tries to upsell you to get more money and to sell you more options for their products. 99% of people are better off with just antivirus, you don’t need track eraser, VPN, firewall, backup, and many other features that is available from Norton. (sorry Norton, ie Symantec...

a.k.p: I don't understand why I need an account with Norton to just install and use an antivirus software I paid for. They make you sign up, ask for credit card information and keep track of your past purchases, etc. This is fine if one intends to forever use the antivirus and wants the convenience of auto renewal. But I find it annoying that you cannot use the product without giving out your information to the company.
After going through the entire process of signing up, they force you to sign autorenewal agreement that will cost $60/year. If you forget to cancel in advance, you will get automatically charged. Not just that, they don't let you download the installer until you agree to do so.
NEVER buying norton again!

DigitalChick: I've had Norton Anti-Virus installed on my home computers for the past 6 years and am happy to report it does what it claims to - keeps them virus free and running well. It's easy to install and simple to operate. I especially like the option of right clicking on a newly downloaded file and using Norton from that menu to run a quick scan on just the one file. Now the "Greedy" part of my review title... Boils down to two things. 1. When your Norton plan is about to expire Norton begins showing you pop-ups telling you it's about to occur and offering to sell you a new subscription. No problem with that. What I don't like is the price they offer you from the pop-up offer is usually twice what you'd pay through most online retailers. Very insulting considering I'm already an established customer. If anything, offer me the best price to remain one! 2. What many others have stated in their reviews - Norton now forces you to input a credit card on their site so they can take a shot at auto-billing you when your just purchased subscription expires.
