Carpenter: Be forewarned, they sent me a useless product. I cannot return the product and Symantec will not support what they sent me because my activation key is not valid for my geographical area. I am out the money that I spent to purchase the product.
Your Norton product activation failed because the product key that you used is not valid for the geographical region you are trying to activate it in. This issue can occur when products are distributed to you outside of the region they are intended for. Symantec recommends that you return the incorrect product to the retailer where you purchased it from and request a refund.
To receive Norton Protection, you must purchase a Norton product designated for your region.
Purchase a Norton product designed for your region
If you still seek to purchase and use the Norton product in your region, we recommend that you go to the authorized Norton Online Store and complete a new purchase. After you complete your purchase, follow the instructions to download and activate using a new product key.

Stoney: If you have an existing Norton 360 subscription which you want to renew: DO NOT insert insert the CD in your computer nor run the download (if you purchase a download).
INSTEAD
1) Open your Norton 360
2) Select "Account" on the top of the menu
3) Select "I have a key or code to enter"
4) Enter the activation code (or "Product Key")---from a card with installation instructions enclosed with the software. That's all. You're done.
Keep the CD and instructions, you may need them if you have a problem with N360 later on.
CD or DOWNLOAD?
Why bother with a potentially troublesome download?---the CD is the same price. The CD is the most convenient way to install Norton 360 on several computers (since this is a 1-user, 3-computer license).
WHERE TO BUY?
> Direct from Norton is the most expensive---about $90 per year, and they push the download (not recommended), and for auto-renewal, meaning that they'll charge your card another $90 next year (not recommended).
> Retailers, such as WalMart may accept returns---and in some cases that means that the activation code has already been used, and so will not work for you. Not...

StayAtHomeDad: Installation was unexpectedly diddicult. . My existing security software for my 3 laptops/PC's was 360 Premier and installing the regular 360 was very difficult. I used the Norton Removal tool first to remove all traces of the 360 Prmier. Then I tried to instal the 360 from CD. As soon I loaded the CD, a list of installation choices was displayed. The recommended procedure was to instal from the Norton website so I selected that. But then I kept on getting a Norton server error. Wasted a good hour doing that so I installed the 360 from the CD. The instal went smoothly but then trouble started again when I attempted to do a live update. It took forever like 7 hours and I think it wast caught in some kind of loop. I had to stop this process via task manager. I then used the Norton Removal Tool and started the whole process again. I then attempted to instal the 360 via the Norton website again I got the Norton server error. I went through this iteration 4 times and finally got our desktop working. Did the same thing with my 2 laptops and experienced similar problems? In total, it took 3 days to instal the 360 onto 3 machines. I think there was some kind of compatibility issue with...
