Amazon Customer: A bit tricky to use but would be good for beginners once you get the hang of it. Also wish there were different types of lead available.

Mario StNic: J'apprécie particulièrement le système de réglage rapide, caractéristique moins courante chez la compétition. J'apprécie moins l'absence d'un étui adéquat étant donné qu'il y a plusieurs petites pièces; pour le prix, je croix qu'une boîte rigide pourrait être incluse. Un papier à l'intérieur incite à réclamer un «cadeau gratuit», mais c'est seulement pour le marché américain. Cela pourrait être indiqué sur ledit papier, évitant ainsi une démarche inutile voire frustrante, quoique l'on ne peut pas en toute logique s'attendre à grand chose... mais qui sait, une boîte de rangement peut-être ;-)

Dans l'ensemble, je suis très satisfait.

Lillie RubyLillie Ruby: What you see is my attempt to use my Mr. Pen set. I was looking forward to this set because I wanted to start working with mandalas. My only experience was high school geometry and that was limited to the usual cheap compass that came in a school supply set.

The cute little mustache print and thank you included did not make up for the lack of instructions. It does say a professional set, so maybe I should have looked for a beginner set to learn the mechanics.

I attempted on my own, but there were pieces included I simply didn't have a clue about. Again, I'm not a professional with a compass.

I can't tell you how many times I had to chase that small screw when it flew off its pin. (I'm left handed and sometimes get righty-lefty backwards.) That pin is tiny. Be careful you don't lose it, or the screw head.

I didn't understand the extender at all, so I turned to online videos. Mr. Pen does have a video, but it moves quickly. His hands are in the way sometimes. Not all the things in my box were addressed, so I still don't know what one thing is. I did manage to see enough on the video to figure out the extender. After I removed it, I realized the pen/pencil...

Ryan PerryRyan Perry: For the most part, the compass is reasonably well built. I was excited to get it, but after using it, am not quite as thrilled.

1) the angle adjustments mid-leg are not as stiff as I'd like. I'd probably have chosen a solid leg instead.
2) The universal pencil holder is plastic and also not quite as stiff. Screws on it are plastic, leaving me cautious about damaging them.
3) It includes a four extra knobs... and two needle points, more than needed, but no extra screws should any of those be lost. Maybe balance those extra pieces out to just two extra knobs and two extra pins.
4) The extension arm was difficult to put on, due to tolerances being slightly off, but once on was quite solid.
5) Not quite as clear in the video is that the end point can be slid anywhere along its length (+) but the end piece is also plastic (-)
6) I do like the adustment knob. But, while my last compass didn't have one, the actual hinge was much stiffer. See photo. I believe this is largely due to it having a bigger screw creating friction at the joint. With this one, the hing itself has two smaller screws and is looser. The threads on the wheel still give enough play that it is...
