MOKiN 9-in-1 Triple Display Multiport Adapter Dock with Dual HDMI and USB C Ports

Cari: Tried a more expensive docking station for my Dell XPS13 laptop and my Plantronics headset audio quality was horrible. This USB-C adapter supports my headset, Logitec multi-device universal adapter, two monitors w/HDMI plug-in that are different screen sizes as well. Feels a little warm but not unexpected. Super happy so far.

USA Proud: Review Summary: A nice USB hub with drawbacks
- HDMI is connected directly to the male USB-C header closest to the edge of the hub
- Power is not shared from the HDMI to any other part of the hub
- Thunderbolt 3 compatibility is questionable (due to shared data bus with the other hub ports)
- Can not be used with an extension cable for a single USB port device (like an iPad)
- A bit bulky and heavy compared to other similar Macbook hubs (potential stress point on the USB ports of the Macbook over time)

I purchased this USB hub for use with a Valve Steam Deck. While this is not the intended device for the design of this hub, there is no reason the hub can not be used with another device. It is simply a USB hub after all.

The issue lies in how the power input delivery and video signal are routed inside this hub.
On the backside of the hub (the side intended to plug into a Macbook) you have two male USB-C headers.
On the front, you have a single USB-C female input port for power input.
That port shares power to all of the ports on the hub, except for the HDMI.

AMitch: I see a lot of people in reviews mentioning that you can't use a protective case on your mac and use this adapter at the same time. Pretty unfair, because it explicitly states this fact in the description, so it really doesn't seem like the reviews should suffer for it. Anyway if you can read, and have read the description- its a fantastic product! Looks great too, which I appreciate.

Jake: Bought this to link my work laptop to my prexisting monitors. Once it detects the monitors it works fine althought sometimes I have to move/jiggle the USB-C connector in the laptop to get it to work fully.

Aside from that it works great, easily handles the power input, monitor outputs and a seperate USB hub without any issue.

Great value for money compared to more expensive versions.

Peter HarrisonPeter Harrison: I bought this USB-C hub to dock my Lenovo Duet Chromebook with my HDMI desktop monitor at 1080p or better. And it does a great job. I was able to select any of my 22" monitor's available resolutions in settings, including 1080p and 1280p resolutions. (I decided 1280x720p at 60Hz worked best for me.) This was a relief because the adapter I bought previously only provided 720p/60Hz connectivity, and that sucked.

Had I done more research before buying that first adapter I would have learned the Lenovo Duet has known problems connecting to higher-resolution monitors via most USB-C to HDMI docks unless the dock has "DisplayPort" capability. There are lots of posters on Reddit and other forums where posters have said the Lenovo Duet just can't drive a monitor at 1080p/60Hz. This adapter proves them wrong, and I'm glad I found it.

But this dock is far from perfect.

First, let's talk about the positive stuff. When connected to my Duet this adapter to drive my 22" HDMI monitor at any screen resolution and refresh rate it supports, including 1080p/60Hz and 1280p/60Hz. The hubs USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports work. (I did not do USB port speed tests, but other Amazon reviewers...
