Moen R8732W 32-Inch Home Care Bathroom Safety Grab Bar for Secure Support

Anon E Mouse: Thank you Amazon for coming to my rescue again when I needed to install a home medical safety item rather urgently. My visits to bricks-and-mortar stores to find this item proved fruitless: the only grab bars available there were 18", 24", 36" and 42". If standard stud width in almost ALL HOMES is 16" on center, why the heck is it so hard to find a grab bar in this width or multiples thereof? This grab bar fit well into the studs because of it's 16 x 2 = 32" width. The peening feature makes it easier to grab/less slippery, therefore safer for the user. I cannot comment on ease of installation, because I relied on a friend to install professionally. Though hardware was included, he used slightly beefier screws to ensure the 200# individual using it would not pull it out of the wall. Good value for money.

Theresa W: I had this grab bar installed in my bathroom tub/shower before having knee replacement surgery. I never felt stable in the shower and had a fear of slipping and falling. I live by myself so that wouldn't have been good. I feel so much more secure knowing I have the bar to hold onto when needed. It was a bit challenging to install because I had my bathroom updated, closing off a window over the tub and adding the shower. So finding a stud was difficult. We wanted to make sure we cut into the tub/shower surround only once for each side. With patience and effort we got it up and tight. It was well worth the effort and I'll enjoy having it for years!

Eric the Tinbender: My wife has MS, and still has problems with just two 16" bars I installed on either side of the toilet, so I bought this to replace a towel rack. Now she can lift herself up with the 16" bars enough to grab this bar to stand all the way up, and still leaves room for towels.

ML: There were already grab bars in the bathroom; however, I needed an additional one. I chose the same company and found the same finish as the other ones... matched perfectly. It's sturdy and keeps me from falling. The main part is textured allowing more grip (even with soapy hands). Worth the investment.

I have tiles in the bathroom. I had a professional install it and it was worth it as it requires a special bit to drill into tiles without breaking them.

anon: I have purchased three of these from Amazon. Don't know how I ever got around my house without them. I have them installed horizontally in hallways. They are superior to handrails as your hand wraps around them. They are a perfect product.
