Hank: My wife and I both have arthritis in our hands! The ability to have a y connection for hoses, with the old brass valve part, has become more and more difficult to operate! This EZ Flow valve solved the problem! It is very easy to open and close each hose connected! It is perfect for our needs!

Berta Bauer, Lighthouse Coaching and Retreats: Many 1/2" flow splitters with shut off valves restrict the flow of water to 3/8" going through the shut of "ball" valve of the splitter. If this is splitter is on a 3/4" hose, the flow is restricted to 5/8" (maybe 1/2") flow going through opened valve. That is the reason I bought these over other less expensive splitters. Also, the shut off lever is much easier to use, and the flow can be controlled by the lever position. I use these splitters along with a three zone water timer and soaker hoses to water my vegetable garden as my day job takes me away from home. They work perfectly, and I also use Melnor's three-way splitter and love that as well.

DickieCoon: So this is the second time I’ve ordered these. I bought enough to do all the outside faucets on my house now, regardless if I have an immediate need.

The previous order was two years ago. I’ve noticed that the plastic on those valves is weathered and oxidized but they still function perfectly. I do remove them from Nov -Apr which is out freeze season. Recently one of these valves was broken by an excavator. The plastic fractured and the hose bib ring securing the valve to the faucet was very difficult to remove because the part was made of brass, with a plastic outer ring for increased grip. The lesson here is that there are metal parts inside this valve where strength is required. Bottom line is that these look like they last multiple years before they fail.

In the past, I’ve used the all metal construction valves from big box stores. Those have a tiny lever arm made of metal to open and close each individual valve. The combination of high friction and short lever arm made those almost impossible to open and close without a wrench or pliers.

Ryan Lockwood: Looks nice. I like the lever action. But I have a leak from the plastic main body to the metal hose connector. That’s ok if the water is occasionally on but I’m trying to use this on an automated watering system that is left on and the drip will add up to a lot of water over time.
