JOSE LUIS CORTES MATUS: Funciona bien , lee de todo MENOS la versión 4k de halloween original, de ahí lee todo, no hace ruido y su rescalado funciona genial, le pongo un 8.

db75oh: So far, it has been a great buy. It seems that 'optical media' players are hard to find, as of the time of this review, as people 'stream'. However, you'll never get as good a picture that way, compared to playing the raw, uncompressed media from a disc. The quality difference is huge.

[GOOD]
- The delay to start playing a movie is fairly short (~10 sec?), compared to other players I've had. This is with an HDMI-2 compliant cable and a 4k Sony TV bought in mid-2021.
- Personally for me, the fact that there is not Wifi, is one reason I chose this model. To those who complain about it; well there are other options. To each his own. I wanted a quality 4k disc player, nothing more.
- New and 'remastered' content is so highly detailed - you can see facial hair, dust on the floor, other fine details in a movie, that you'd not with lower resolutions of the same media.

[NEUTRAL]
- There is no display on the unit. Being able to see time, play mode etc, seems to be expected. I guess some might want to get this from the on-screen-display, and not have 'un-necessary' lights.

- The remote is tiny and flimsy. This seems to be the...

George: Since my DVD player was getting a lot of years on it, I decided to get this one (the American unit) as a backup unit (I have no idea about the foreign unit which is also available). It plays DVDs just fine. The USB port feature is also nice. Although it's rather obtuse, you can get it to play mp3s from a USB device and you can also create mp3s(all done with the remote). There is no on unit display other than a power LED (common for low cost units) but a display does show up on the TV. The remote is sort of weak in that you have to point it directly at the unit to work. Unfortunate since the remote is the main control unit for all the features. But other than that, it works fine. The description on Amazon says it plays mp4 files but it doesn't seem to do so. But, playing the mp3 files is nice as you can make a multi-CD playlist and have hours of music. In the past, I used my DVD 5 disk changer for that purpose. The LG is much more convenient. It is a bit noisy on start up but doesn't appear to cause a problem. All in all, I am happy with the unit.

David Yarbrough: In my home theater setup the Bluray player is just another component that needs to do it's job (play Bluray and DVD discs) and do that one job well. I don't want to stream Netflix from it, I don't want apps, I just want to play discs as quickly as possible with the highest quality and reliability possible. This unit does exactly that.

The Bluray player just plays Blurays and has practically no other features and it is awesome. You pop a disc in, even the most complex ones with all sorts of crazy menus and on disc features and they load up almost instantly. I'm at the menu and pressing play in just a few seconds and then play starts right away. This thing is awesome. Picture quality and the controls are great. My only downside might be that the remote is a little small but otherwise works just fine and frankly why do I need some beast with 60 buttons to play a disc? I don't!

All in all I'm super happy with this and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a solid player that is a part of your overall home theater setup. If you need a 'hub'/smart device that has Netflix, apps, and all sorts of other steaming and games or whatnot look elsewhere.

Baivab Mitra: I have LG 4K 3D OLED TV along with 7.2 channel A/V receiver. Player's routed thru receiver into TV. I have 4 blu-ray UHD 3D, around 7 4K blu-ray and tons of non-4K blu-ray / DVDs. All of them worked.

VIDEO Quality: 3D or 4K is detected by TV immediately. video output set to 4K quality. My A/V receiver video is marked as pass-thru. I have tried 4K blu-ray and display is phenomenal. Then I took normal blu-ray up converted by the player vs no up conversion by player. In case no up conversion, conversion is being done by TV. TV up conversion was slightly better in terms of buffer/jitters for fast movement scenes but that's expected. Overall impressed with the up conversion of this player.

AUDIO - I use - for audio PCM which I determined to be lossless (some players send PCM but loosy) and found my A/V receiver happily using the correct Codec. Quality : impressive.

User Interface: PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Hoorah. None of those streaming apps, etc 4 choices: Movies, Photos, Music, Settings. 1st. three - accessible via USB device if connected (player has a USB port up front) or some MHL (no idea). Settings - has network connection but will be used in case...
