Mary Ann: I loved the clear way Dr. Les Carter explained the ideas and used real people's life situations as examples. This book will broaden your views of what anger is and help you understand the stress that comes into your life because of it. It will give you wonderful tools to solve the problems that the old way of dealing with them never did. My life is so much more peaceful after reading this book and using the tools. Thank you, Dr. Carter.

Amazon Customer: A few years ago I found Dr Carter from his YouTube videos on dealing with narcissistic people, which is an excellent resource. When looking for a resource on dealing with with anxiety, my respect for the man drew me to his book. He has years of proffesional practice dealing with these issues.
Dr Carter does not give you pointers in a how-to format. Instead offers it to you in real case scenarios or stories based on his years of experience with clients, and offering you questions to ponder over at the end of the chapter based on what you read and how it relates to your own situation. By recognizing yourself in certain aspects of these scenarios, seeing the advice offered and it's affects, then getting you to think at the end, you come away with new perspectives that will stick with you.
The book is only as good as what you practice.
I would rate it as a good read. Stories can get lengthy but the suggestions offered were excellent.

Carlos: Great book but with unnecessary religious overtones.
Overall, this book offers great insights into anger management. Definitely a recommended read.

Estrild: This is a clearly laid out, sensibly organized compendium of a lifetime's career insider info on why we're angry and what we can do about it. It's a joy to read, I could hear his calm voice in the writing, which I know from his excellent YouTube uploads. You gotta do yourself a favour and look inside anger. Dr Carter is all about respect, dignity and decency. It was a joy to read, and is a great gift to humanity.

Land Cruiser: I got this book only because it was part of a package with two other books by Dr Les Carter. It turned out to be a very thought provoking read. Not a person who outwardly displays anger, I found that I sometimes had what’s referred to as suppressed anger, rather than being assertive. Read with an open mind you can learn a lot about yourself.

Can: I’m really not a review writer person. The only reason I’m writing this review is, my genuine belief in this book that it can fundamentally help some people improving their lives. I am not saying that this book is a magical cure to anything; but hey, self-improv books are just tools to help us to understand ourselves better, right? I believe that this one is a very good one.

I wish I would stumble upon this book 20 years ago. I wish someone would have forced me to read this book before I get married to the nicest person that I’ve ever known, —who I made her suffer hundreds of times by my anger trap...

I lost the number of times that I felt embarrassed because of the accuracy of the Author’s definitions of ‘angry people’ —which I related, a lot! There are painful details in this book that will definitely make ‘angry people’ feel (initially) uncomfortable. After a while, you’ll feel relief because you’ll be able to diagnose yourself and learn more about your issue.

Anyways, highly recommended! Read this book.

(PS: I am a Muslim and the author is clearly a Christian. There are occasional references to religious perspectives. Guess...

Leo Volont YouTube Messiah: This is the 3rd time I reread this book and now, oh dear, it was so boring, so unscientific, so against itself -- An Anger Management Book telling people that they need to Assert themselves, as though that isn't already their worst problem. and it is BORING. The narrative is like from a lifeless robot. A STUPID lifeless robot.
No, if you want some good Anger Management Books, go to the following: Anger Management by Peter Favaro (5 Stars), Overcoming Anger and Irritation by William Davies (5 Stars till the end of the book where he wants me to stop drinking coffee in the morning and scotch at night, where he goes down to 4 Stars), Angry All the Time by Ronald Potter-Efron (5 Stars). the only book decisively worse than Les Carter's is "The Gift of Anger" by Marcia Cannon... well, duh! if anger was such a gift, then why are people buying books to rid themselves of it.... her next book should be "The Gift of Disease and Poverty and Being Hopelessly Ugly"

But, I had written earlier, before I had as much perspective, the following:

While I am an angelic person, all sweetness, goodness and Light, and never had an angry moment in my life, still, I made it a bit of a hobby...

TLJB from the South: Getting to the bottom of your anger issues is possible with this book's information. Presented in a straight-forward, readable manner, the book's contents move the reader from understanding that anger is a natural human emotion and one that is acceptable to have and express to an understanding of how we can change our anger "habits." Many of us "anger junkies" were never taught HOW to manage our anger, nor were we told that anger is an acceptable feeling, so we tend to express it in all the wrong ways--by either turning on ourselves, our loved-ones, or others. Most often we express anger in the ways it was expressed or levied upon us at vulnerable times of our development when we didn't have a choice but to endure.

The author presents scenarios from his own practice (with names changed) to help the reader to comprehend how he has helped others and the ways we manage anger is a choice. He also emphasizes that old patterns of anger-related behavior that are destructive to self, family, and friends, can indeed be changed with practice once the desire to change is present. Know that changing behavior and attitudes is a constant choice and a process that will take some time and...

Nothing really matters: This book is really great. If you suspect you have anger issues, this book will help you determine if you do and then understand them. And, understanding is really the key to beginning to deal with those issues.

Truth be told, though, I've been reading it very carefully and I've only gotten through the first half. I have scanned the second half and all signs indicate it is excellent as well. Why haven't I finished? I've got a very busy job and a hectic homelife with two young kids.

So, I really, really, really wish the publisher would release an audio version of this book. Nowadays, listening to an audio version of a book during my commute is the only way I can get through any book. And I do want to finish.

PS: Don't be put off the complaints about some mildly religious content. I'm not at all religious and it did not bother me. There's very little and, in any case, it doesn't amount to prosletizing. If it really does bother you, though, it may be an indication you have anger issues and should just read the darn book.
