OrlinOrlin: I needed a watch that self-adjusts and is visible from everywhere in the room. First, I bought one from Walmart. It's ugly, but can be seen from everywhere.
I saw this one on Amazon, and decided to buy it and return the ugly one.
Unfortunately, this one has pale digits and has poor visibility even from close. It's angle of vision is very limited. Digits are well seen only if you face it directly and your eyesight is on the same level. It's screen is very chaotic.
I started growing some affection for the big, ugly one.
The backup light does not help much because it only works for 10 secs on batteries. You need to press a button that is on the back side - maybe I'll remember its location but that makes it a NOT wall clock.
When you plug the cable, you need to hide it. If the clock is hanging on the wall, the cable pulls it in one direction and there's no way to hide it.
Functionally, everything is excellent. It connected to the Atomic clock station and I will not need to adjust daylight saving time anymore. The information it shows is useful, the weather forecast is convenient. But again: poorly organized. The accent is in outside temperature, not...

Paul : Got this to replace a 15 year old unit , display is nice and big, pressure history display is a bit annoying too bad you can't cancel it , nice that it has a built in light but it's quite hard to read when lit, overall i would recommend this to anyone that wants a good looking weather station at a reasonable price.

AL in BC: Handsome unit that was well packaged and very easy to set-up. Sensor synced to display immediately and agreed with the humidity and temp. of our dyson fan tower. On sale for $60 cdn. Will update forecast quality in a couple of weeks.

Barry Martin: I'm just using the batteries. The display is nice and clear. The station seems to be accurate both inside and outside. Easy to install.

Nick Carrigan: My review will focus mostly on the LCD display. I purchased this unit so I could have the outdoor temp and barometric pressure display as my older, color model did not have this feature.

Unlike the other displays, this unit uses a backlit LCD display which is generally fine but it requires the unit to be positioned perfectly toward the user at an angle. That angle is not easy to find. Also, once the user moves around then the display has a finite working window -- meaning that the display will disappear once you pass that window.

If the unit is plugged in then the backlight is nice and bright but it will also light up a dark room. This may be too much light if placed in a bedroom. There are different light levels but of course that will make it harder to read.

If the display light is turned off then the unit can actually be read with some kind of front lighting, such as a TV. This is one advantage to the plain LCD display. Sadly though, the same rule applies and once the user moves out of that working window then the LCD segments start to disappear.

I think the ideal place for this kind of LCD unit would be a wall-mount. This...

Poiuytrew.q: My dad requested I get him a barometer/thermometer reader. He actually wanted one he could hang so he could look at it from the window. He did not want one that was electric, but I got this for him anyway and he likes it well enough. (I had a hard time finding an analog thermometer/barometer/hygrometer that was easy to read at a distance, affordable, and accurate).

I put it right in front of the stairs so and by the front door, so everyone sees it every day. The numbers are big so he could read it and the display is easy to see.

I would not say it is accurate though, because it started raining and there was no indication on the monitor (no change in pressure). The different weather apps we have also did not predict the rain well; they said it would be sprinkling but it was raining.

The temperature reading for indoor vs outdoor is fine though and that's what we use most of the time. It's off by 5 degrees Fahrenheit, but I think the relative difference between indoor and outdoor temperature is OK. We live in California, so it does not get humid and it's not so important for us, so the value for outdoor and indoor humidy are not the same but...

Sam: I had the older version of this unit, which was more vertical in height, and had 24 bars for the pressure graphic. I really liked it, but the outdoor sensor died and eventually the unit followed (after about 15 years). This unit is the same style, with everything you need to know about the inside and outside temps, humidity, pressure, and a mostly-accurate short-term forecast. Give it about 2-3 weeks and the short-term forecasts become more accurate. It is also viewable from across the room, but only in direct, perpendicular line-of-sight... can't see it well at angles. The back-light will only operate full-time if the unit is plugged into an outlet. The batteries on the main unit will operate it, but without back-light (can press the light button for about 5 seconds of low back-light), so be prepared to have to plug it in!

A bit of advice on the outdoor sensor... use Lithium batteries, and you'll not have to change them for a year or two. Also mount the outside temp sensor where it will not be in direct sunlight or direct rain/snow path.

I also have a full weather station in my office, but this little unit is usually where we check to see...
