Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Newentor Weather Station Technology

Rick Horwath: I purchased this to replace an old home weather station that, unfortunately, hit the floor pretty hard. This one, with it's color display, is much nicer and easy to read, even from across the room. It seem to be accurate, at least the indoor temperature matches the reading in my digital thermostat. It takes a while to settle into any predictive mode, but that's to be expected. When you use the power adapted included, the display stays on all the time, but not until the system has completed it's internal set-up and connects with the remote sensor. Until then, the display turns off after about 30 seconds. The only CON I can find is that it does not store and display the highs and lows for the 24 hour period. You can press the "MEM" button to cycle through that, but it doesn't stay on the display like my old one did. Gee, I have to push a button, I guess I can live with that.
Overall, I'm very happy with the system, it's a marked improvement over the old one-color LCD display.

Sancho Panza: This is a very good weather station. The instruction guide is very good. The station is very accurate, and I like the link to the atomic clock. I highly recommend that you plug the unit into an outlet if you can, because then the display is always on (under battery power, the display blacks out to save power). When initially starting up, you need to give the unit a few days to connect to the atomic clock and to gain history for weather forecasting. An important suggestion: place the unit in a location where you can look down at the display / when looking up at the display, the numbers cannot be easily seen - this is the only negative comment

Mark: I love this weather station, I bought four different brands and this one is the best, and what is more phenomenal is their support. I bought this one in June 2021 and by the next year 2022 I was getting a message that the indoor temperature was exceeding a lower temperature setting, even thought I didn't set any limits, so I considered this a problem with the device because I couldn't stop it from doing that.

So in August 2023, I contacted Newentor and asked if they could help me resolve the issue and they were happy to try, I did not ask for a replacement but they said the device is defective and should be replaced, but it was well out of the 1 year warranty period, and even though I had it for 2 years they still voluntarily sent me a free replacement and apologized for the trouble I had.

I want to buy another weather station for my RV, so I am definitely buying another one of these because of the features the device has and their product support.

Ron MosemanRon Moseman: Based on some of the reviews I was concerned that this weather station might be complicated to set up. I needn't have worried. The station itself does most of the heavy lifting for you. Basically, you put batteries in the station or plug it in. Doing both is best so you have a battery backup. Also, with it plugged in the backlight stays on. With batteries, it goes out after a few seconds to save the batteries. Then you put batteries in the remote sensor and hang it outside avoiding direct sunlight and direct exposure to rain. Under the eaves on the north side of your house works perfectly.

At that point, the station is already calibrating itself and figuring out the inside and outside temperatures and humidity levels. It is also searching for the radio signal to set the clock. This all might take some time so if things aren't perfectly accurate right away be patient. It will all adjust itself. I did set the clock without waiting for the radio signal and the next morning I noticed that it was off by one hour. The radio signal had kicked in and reset the time and I had failed to set the device for the correct time zone. I fixed that and now the clock is right on.
