I have spent A LOT of time trying to find out if these Kenmore vacuum bags contain fiberglass or if they are safe for making face masks. I had a big run around trying to find out this information but, after several hours on the phone and online I have determined that YES, they are safe and I am currently using them for filters in face masks. I have confirmed that Cleva INC is the manufacturer of these masks. Here is how to reach them, Cleva North America, INC, 1-866-384-8432. I was told that according to the Safety Data Sheet for these bags, they are made out of polyethylene which is a type of plastic. According to Cleva, there is absolutely no fiber glass in these bags! According to sites online polyethylene is widely used in the USA and is safe. Cleva and Kenmore will say that they do not recommend for these bags to be used for anything other than for vacuuming; this is due to liability issues. It also says on the bag that Federal law prohibits the use of this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Took me a while to find the OEM bags for my Kenmore vacuum but I finally found these. I had purchased some no-name bags in the past and they were very poor quality. These bags are just like the original bags that came with the vacuum. Very pleased.

I was so skeptical because of certain reviews, but this bag is way better than the yellow (not sure of brand) bags I’ve been buying. Yes, the bag is too big for the container, but who cares? You fold it down and it fits perfectly. I’m not sure why it’s too big, but there has to be a purpose....surely. Anyways, it works great and seems to trap allergens relatively well. It has a cloth like feel to it and works perfectly fine. I’ll defintiely be ordering more in the future.
