Marla Kimball: Came very quickly. Great power and suction. No beater bar and the floor bar is mediocre, doesn’t always pick things up. The cord is WAY too short, that’s the main downfall. Great for cleaning dust and ceiling fans, very lightweight, easy to carry and vacuum at the same time if you have to get up high etc. If you buy the horse hair brush with it, it makes a fantastic vacuum for dusting high places, shelves, all the corners and baseboards, etc. Not the best for full floor vacuuming.

JSJS: I like it, but I had to make it work for me. The beater brush is supposed to be retractable, but it doesn't retract high enough for it to not reach the floor and I did not want the brush to touch my area rug. So, I had to put tape over the beater brush (see my photo), and now it glides across my area rug without damaging the fibers. When I first tried it without the tape over it, I flipped over the floor attachment and saw the fibers stuck in the brush.

The other attachments like the small brush, and the concentrator nozzle work great. I use them for corners, molding, etc.

For my hardwood floor is, my process is to sweep all the dirt up against various walls throughout the space and then go to each wall and use the concentrator nozzle to suck it up.

The suction power is good, and the shorter distance from the floor to the main unit, the better. So, for example, for more suction, attach the floor attachment directly to the hose that is connected to the main unit, instead of with that extra hose in the middle.

CC: Good little vacuum which has a strong suction. I would not recommend this vacuum for someone who has a home which is mainly carpeted because this vacuum does not have an attachment with a rotating bar for carpets. If you are looking for an inexpensive vacuum for hardwood floors or vinyl flooring this will probably suit your needs. The canister is lightweight, but is prone to flipping if you tug too hard while vacuuming. The retractable cord is not particularly long, so you may require any extension cord if your are going to be going from room to room. I would recommend this vacuum to someone who lives in a small apartment or condo with no carpeting or if you want an inexpensive second vacuum to vacuum your car.

road_rascal: How is it possible that a 43 y/o male union pipefitter can be so psyched about a sub $40 vacuum? Yes, I do most of the cleaning and cooking in this castle. So there.

I ordered this vac based on the reviews here and will be put to use at the cabin 'up north' which mainly has wood floors,a few rugs and small carpeted areas. I did a quick test around the house to give the vacuum a proper shakedown Assembly was a breeze (who looks at the manual anyways?) and it took a total of 5 minutes from opening the box to plugging in the power cord for some serious dust bunny busting.

This little vac really sucks up the floor. I cleaned 4 rooms in a matter of minutes compared to using a swiffer type floor duster thingy which I normally use, then suck up the piles with the hose attachment from the upright vacuum, which really is a pain and not an efficient use of time. I giggled like a little girl cleaning the linoleum bathroom floor of all the Chewbacca dander the wife and daughter leave behind after a 2 hour session of styling and blow drying. Seriously, the amount of hair that fall off their heads everyday could choke a billy goat. So I was happy that the little purple vac cleared...
