M. Mcintee: This book is filled with action adventure and love in abundance.
I have enjoyed the dalliance with Kress and Cadelyn and seeing the fulfilment at the end.
I appreciate the way Kathryn writes in the fact/fiction style, the research that goes into her novels is outstanding.

treesaw: Kathryn Le Veque is a very talented historical romance author. The characters are interesting and the plots are exciting. The Executioner Knights is a good series.
The political ambitions are the driving force in this story on both sides but the characters are the glue which keeps the story together and moves it forward.

Roslynn: While in a tavern one night some men are cheating Kress de Rhydian and his friends; so Kress takes their clothes. The next day Kress is called by William Marshal and is reprimanded for taking these men’s clothes but also for a very important task. To escort a bride to her husband and Kress is not only one of the escorts but is supposed to be the lady’s shadow. The bride is Cadelyn of Vendotia, a true Welsh blooded princess and her identity is hidden except to certain people. Cadelyn is trying desperately to avoid her marriage to an unknown earl even with the reminder from her friend Susanna that her escort will be there to get her and she needs to be ready to leave. Of course Cadelyn’s escort arrives and in meeting Kress there is an instant attraction. Kress knows to give into this attraction is not only dangerous but could cost war between England and Wales. Still Kress will do his duty and both Kress and Cadelyn fall even more for each other. Cadelyn wants out of the betrothal to be with Kress and Kress will not give up his illustrious career as an Executioner Knight for love or will he?

Patty: I am a big fan of KLV but I have enjoyed her earlier books better than her newer ones, it’s still a good read.

lisa: The opening chapter of this book is just hilarious as medieval housewives fight in the street to get hold of some dirty poems. When Kathryn le Veque decides to write humour, she is very good at it. There is nothing funnier than her deadpan tone as she recounts some truly crazy scenes.
The author of the rude words is the book’s heroine Cadelyn, a women who fights her fate. The man dragging her along to an arranged political marriage is Kress, a tough guy knight who does dirty work for the nation’s kingmakers. I normally dislike political thrillers but I ate up every plot turn in this truly entertaining novel.
If you are looking for a unique kind of hero, look elsewhere. Kress is a standard le Veque leading man with big muscles a square jaw and a sense of duty. But his clashes with spirited Cadelyn are full of growing emotional intensity. This is good reading if you want some history, a splash of romance and a few belly laughs.

Alison Pridie: The Mountain Dark
It seems that the second Executioner Knight is going to Wales with a specific purpose. William Marshall is determined and I mean determined to make a match. A match between a Welsh princess and one of king John's enemies in the hopes of strengthening the growing rebellion against John.
William Marshall appears to all to support the king, but behind closed doors that couldn't be farther from the truth. He is plotting against John as it seems John is doing more to hurt England and he must be removed.
William sends Kress to Wales to escort Cadelyn ferch Rhys from her home back to Chepstow Castle for the marriage. You see Cadelyn is one of the last full blooded Welsh princess and therefore everyone wants her. Then there comes a complication it seems that the princess has fallen in love and not with her intended. She has fallen in with Krees on the way to the castle and Krees even knowing it's wrong can't help, but deny his feelings for her either
So now they have finally reached Cheapstow and the princess absolutely refuses to marry the man that William has chosen for her then William finds out why. She's in love with Krees. The princess...
