R.Jimlad: Cathy somehow manages to take me into the sandwich which is the life of a foster carer. She is squeezed between caring for an unfortunate child and their mother, the caring system, the law, and the relatives. Cathy gets me to see life from each perspective impartially while still sticking up for the child. She lays out the problems, some impossible at first, some mysterious, and, one by one, the child overcomes them. Here, little Jamey not only comes with his own problems but is also hit by the Covid-19 Lockdown. We see how he, his mother, the caring system, the law and the relatives cope. Btilliant!

Centsible: Cathy Glass is a foster carer and writer. I enjoy her books and value the work she does. Before I found her books, I never heard of a positive foster care story. Foster Care was vilified in literature and memoirs. This case story incorporates the Covid 19 pandemic and how it impacts her family, friends, and foster care. Cathy Glass is British and in this story she described how Great Britain responded to the pandemic. I highly recommend her books.

T. :): Yet another of Cathy's well written books. Sad as it was, she holds your attention & makes you feel as though you are there. I have read all of Cathy's memoir books & that I do believe is a first! I don't think I've ever been that pleased with any one Author enough to purchase ALL of their books. The only bad part is, that Cathy can't write fast enough to keep up with our interests in her stories. After reading her well written books, I will be in a delima to find another author to interest me, while I wait for the next book to come in September. Great job Cathy! Keep them coming!!

ebdoug: I've been a public health nurse, I've had a day care, I've raised my children, I have a lot of critters. This is a story of neglect. This is what happens when you take a child, put it in a crib (at your house or in an orphanage) and neglect the child. The child shuts down. Watching the stages Jamey went though. Watching as he sees children interact. Learning to talk. This is all new to him. Until he was with Cathy, he only ate and slept. He does both well for survival and nothing else.

B: This book talks about the heartache of a toddler struggling to survive with a mom of addiction. This toddler is taken into a loving foster home and set up to survive. Cathy Glass writes her novels with the straight to the point facts as well as how she nurtures the child in her care. This book takes place in 2019 to 2020 so the talk of COVID and how that rocks the foster care world puts a new viewpoint in how many different people in different situations were affected by COVID. This is another great novel by Cathy Glass and I'm so happy for a novel with a happy ending.

Martha A. Hill: A good book about a little neglected 2 1/2 year old boy that doesn’t talk at all. His name is Jamey and his mummy was a drug addict that didn’t talk to him or take proper care of him. He was still in diapers and didn’t know how to eat regular food or how to feed himself. His foster care mom gets him to eating, talking and walking more normal. A good read that involved a foster family.
