This book offers an easy-to-read, comprehensive exploration of the topic and is highly rated for its overall satisfaction, binding and pages quality. It is the ideal choice for those looking to gain insight into children's studies social science.Kindle Customer: Read more than halfway through and then quit because I got tired of her mentioning race at the oddest times (like when she was proposing ACE’s to a room full of “white doctors” Why would it matter that they’re white?). She gloats about meeting with Kamala Harris and how great she was after her failed presentation to the “white doctors”. This made me sigh and I tried to continue reading but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth my time. She has great points about the ACE system but the book came off more braggy/snooty than educational. I would not recommend.

AJ: This is a very well-written and interesting story of how the author/medical doctor discovered the link between trauma and physical illnesses. She gives real live examples of what she was seeing in practice with her pediatric patients and what the ACE's studies eventually showed. The author takes a complex topic and makes it understandable and applicable.

Amazon Customer: While Dr. Harris considers herself to be a researcher, she totally omits mentioning the ACE scores of the American-Asian population, witch at 23% is 1/3 of the African-American population at 61%, and she lives in San Francisco! She must have known. Maybe the solution is cultural and not financial.
The first seven chapters are informative detailing the effects of childhood trauma. Further on she gets into politics.

Sarah H.: There is so much to know beyond the basics of having toxic stress and a high ACE score. This book provides that. I’m grateful to this author for her life passion for this subject, and for bringing to my attention what no doctor has ever cared to discuss with me. All doctors need to understand the connections between ACEs and our physical and mental health.

Amazon Customer: I wish my mom has read this book. I even wish my dad has read this book. Actually, I wish my family, teachers, doctors, and anyone around me has read this book. I've always struggled with my depression, allergies (including asthma), and weight (underweight my whole life). I can't even image how different my life would have been if someone could have supported me when I was just a kid and going through many stresses (ACE of 5). I really hope ACE will be a global and traditional screening for kids. Moreover, I really hope parents and families will not pass toxic stress from generation to generation. Instead, they will start breaking the cycle.

Marina Smidesang: Excellent book! It sheds light on an issue that is currently under-represented in written text and in communities across the globe. It is a book that shows that class, income or location does not pre-determine who becomes a victim of ACE. It is also a book that shows how to detect if ACE is a factor, and suggestions how to diminish the effects in a way that can open up for a better life for the person who has had ACE. It is a soft spoken story with a deep meaning and even deeper potential to be an instrument in healing a high number of people who have fallen through the cracks.

Jennifer Kessler: This book blew my mind. As a parent and foster parent, I learned just how impactful ACEs could be and the beginnings of how to address them. To get the full story on solutions, you need to read The Connected Child (TBRI) and watch the TBRI videos; consider that Part 2. Bruce Perry books would be Part 3, especially if you’re an adult with ACES. Still, The Deepest Well was a pleasure to read and totally paradigm-shifting, and started me down the path of finding more concrete solutions.
