Doug_in_South_Bend: What's up with these Chinese packaging engineers? They put a plastic protective cap on the top section of the pole almost impossible to remove! Someone is going to get hurt using a knife, screwdriver, or pliers trying to get it off. I finally pulled the cap off in pieces with pliers. I was also
Irritated as there was no mention of protective caps on the useless one page instruction sheet. The lamp cannot be assembled with the caps on, and for a few minutes I tried to figure out how to screw the sections together not realizing there were protection caps. One more more thing: why did they decide the sections needed protection caps during shipping? They didn't look necessary to me. The sections were well protected by the styrofoam in the the box.
Aside from the assembly hassle, I I am very pleased with the lamp. I especially appreciate the step button on/off switch. The lamp is just what I wanted when I submitted my order, but I give the product a two star demotion because of the troublesome assembly.
