Thomas Dwyer III: My original board was failing to open the gas value (guessing a bad/stuck relay) so I shopped around and discovered replacement boards were considerably more expensive than this one pretty much everywhere else I looked (like 2-3x more). This price seemed too good to be true but I trusted that Amazon Prime would take care of me if it was a dud. I took pictures of the wiring on my old board so I could be sure to reinstall everything in the same places on this new board. Strangely enough, it didn't work--I got a fast blink from the small LED. The instructions mapped this to "reversed polarity" so I simply swapped the two output wires from the transformer and it roared to life. Not sure why I had to do that since they weren't swapped on the old board (and the instructions confirmed my first attempt should have been correct based on the colors of the wires) but it's working fine now. (And yes I confirmed with a multimeter that the white & black 120VAC input wires had the correct polarity--black to ground reads 120, white to ground reads zero.)
My old board didn't have the diagnostic LED. If this board didn't have it either I would have given up and returned it as a bad part,...

Jaime Laager: I found this item to be exactly what I was expexting to receive. Unfortunately though, I’ve had to replace this part on my furnace a couple times. First time it was because of a leak in the line going to the humidistat which caused the control panel & the blower motor to go. The second time was because of a leak in the roof that found its way to the furnace. Third leak was the same as the first leak; albeit the difference was where it came & how it found it’s way there. The 4th leak was the A/C coil that was mounted directly above the furnace. When I saw that the air in the houses was not working & found rhe A/C coil was surrounded like a block of ice. I’ve found that HVAC mechanis, repairmen & supply house workers pretty much REFUSE to give any aid whatsoever unless you have some sore of “license”, you’re never gonna get one of them to give you a hand. I’m a mechanical engineer by trade. And no offense to HVAC mechanics, but there is very few mechanical objects or items in this word that I do not, or can not possess an understanding of to repair or otherwise rebuild. Luckily for me, my neighbor is a good friend of mine dating back to elementary...

Chortles: I have an old 1992 mid-efficiency furnace, and this board is made to replace the original. As other reviewers have said, my furnace is working better than it did before. Install was easy. It started acting finnicky, where it would turn on for a while, then switch off and not come back on unless you let it rest for a couple of hours. After a few days the blower motor wouldn't turn on at all. The startup sequence did everything but turn the blower motor on. I replaced the capacitor but the motor still wouldn't turn on. Tested with a multimeter and the control board wasn't sending power to the motor.
Ordered this. It arrived fast and took 5 minutes to install and the furnace works like new again. Maybe it's the capacitor I replaced, but even the blower motor seems quieter and more smooth blowing now.

ZenM: Purchased the ICM281 CESO110057 for our Carrier 58PAV090. After 22 years of service, our Carrier furnace appeared to be down for the count. Thanks to an assortment of valuable info gathered from various forums and youtube videos, we were able to narrow the problem to a control board issue (cold solder joints) plaguing some Carrier furnaces.
-Old Control Board-
Basically, the furnace's hot surface ignitor (HSI) would light up fine, but for some reason the main burners wouldn't fire up and after 4 attempts it would go into "lockout" mode and shut the entire system down.
We were told that we could restart/reset the system at the thermostat by turning it off and then back on, in order to get it to come out of lockout mode. Well, we discovered that the furnace could still fire up on occasion after approx 4-6 re-starts during the daytime and 9-12+ resets during the cold night. Inconsistent heat is better than no heat, well... not by much.
There was only heat if you have the patience to reset it several times and each reset would take approx 5 minutes each to complete. While waiting for the new board to arrive, getting up in the middle of the night to wait for the...

Lawrence DiVizio: As I said, this board is new and in the furnace so time will tell as far as reliability, though the board is light years ahead in its build compared to the OEM board it replaced.
But I was impressed with Tech Support. I had a question and called the support line that is provided in the box with the board. I didn't expect much and I was very surprised. After a short wait, a Tech came on the line, he pulled up the board on his computer and provided the information I needed. He knew exactly what he was talking about and what I needed. He was clear, to the point and very friendly. Before I hung up he offered some information on my specific board and brand of furnace regarding wiring connections. I am beyond impressed.
