Paratrooper_us: I am by no means an AC repair person, but have some basic knowledge and have been doing some repairs on my own AC unit (with the help of a friend). I planned a week visit to my Mom, and the day before I left to go there, she told me she was having issues with the fan on her AC (7 years old) constantly blowing even when the AC was not running. I walked her through the basics of checking the thermostat setting, .... and all was good. Called my friend up (owns an AC company) and told him what was happening and that I would be at Mom's the following afternoon, so we "scheduled" a video call.
With the help of my friend, we determined that it was the control board (and now I know what to look for, so I can rule that out on my own, before I call him next time). I spent about 30 minutes researching what I needed and then went on the hunt for the control board with delivery time and cost as the two factors. I found this.
The installation was simple, Most importantly, MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF, to the complete AC system (I turned the AC down to 60 degrees, let it fire up and run for about 30 seconds and then flipped the breakers to make sure that all was off, then tested with...
