Brian Johnston: I really like the ability to adjust the speed of this wave maker. I tried another but it was too powerful and pushed my sand substrate away from the opposite side of the aquarium. While this is smaller I really like that i can adjust the speed and still get surface agitation.

The instructions are not that helpful at all. I had to look up a YouTube video to understand how to program it. Looking at the instructions now, i can follow it, but without the video it didn’t make sense to me.

Michelle Heil: If your contemplating getting this for your mini reef, just buy it! My corals have never been so open and they love it!

James: I've been using this wave-maker on a couple different nano tanks for about a year. My experience so far, its a really low profile, yet powerful little wave maker. It does not clog easily, and regular maintenance has kept it running out of box like new.

The biggest con for me personally is the ease of setup and use.
- The instructions are in somewhat broken English, which isn't the greatest.
- The big hiccup I noticed was that if the pump loses power, more often then not the settings would reset, meaning you have to manually go in and determine the appropriate sequence of buttons to reset both the system clock, wave duration, wave frequency and wave intensity. This proved to be really annoying and bothersome, as sometimes I would wake up to the wave maker at 100% with many of my corals in "hurricane mode".
- I also noticed, regardless of loss of power, sometimes the unit just resets all settings without cause. This is always a huge headache, because it happens just frequent enough to be noticeable, but not frequent enough for me to remember how to configure the device, without painstakingly going through the manual again step by step.

J. MingleJ. Mingle: I like this wave maker, and the size is perfect for my 20 gal tank. It does work great and the controller is easy to use. I’m going through one per year, though. The magneto in the fan quits working so the fan goes out. I guess the minerals plus the constant use wears it out. I’ve tried cleaning it, with no luck at fixing the problem. I just wish I could easily order just a replacement fan without the controller to save costs. I now have two extra controllers and can’t use them for anything else. Since I can’t find another wave maker this small I’ll have to bite the bullet and order another.

Richard ParkerRichard Parker: There is no app but once you set it you can forget it. Compared to other pumps that are 3 to 4 times the cost this is acceptable. I have a 10 gallon tank and have it set on the lowest setting. I think it does a good job for the money. The instructions are confusing at first but once you understand them you can set it up. It has enough options to do what you want it to do. Would be nicer if there was an app but maybe would cost more???
Update:
Sept 09, 2023: Error 7.. I took it all apart and checked and cleaned. I feel a rubbing when I spin it with the power off. When I spin the impeller I can feel rubbing when I get to one place. I cannot see anything and I run my finger everywhere looking for a ruff spot but don't feel anything. Don't know what it can be. Put it all back together and it started up but I could hear a rubbing noise that I did not hear before. It is a brand new tank with no fish so don;t know what it could be. I may have to return it if it keeps happening. I got another one that has been running for about a month that I bought used with no problems. Don't know why this one is having issues.

mathew broad: I actually expected it to do a bit more than it did, wanted to add it to my 60 gallon to create some natural wave affects and flow. It didn't do very well in that tank.. but in my 20 gallon nano reef it is great!! It is the only water mover in the tank and the tank and corals look much healthier since I put it in

Amazon Customer: This product is very sleek and works great. Only two small downsides: the instructions on its use are a little unclear and don’t provide detailed, in depth instructions on set up and operation; and I notice that sometimes when the unit is operating on its normal daily schedule, the display settings don’t match what the propeller is actually doing. If you tap the S button it will show you the time, then when you tap S again to go back to the main display, the settings displayed with change to what the propeller is actually doing (which has so far been the correct setting for that time period).

Devin: I have this in my 30 gallon tank. It might be a little under powered for my tank as I have to have it at full power in order to get good movement. I would probably recommend the 20w model for anything above 25 gallons as that will give you move flexibility in the amount of flow you can have. Only complaint about this is the time periods make no sense. I want less flow at night but the nighttime period starts at 430PM. You can get around this though by adjusting the time.

ajitesh b.: Love this micro beast. You can set your preferred flow during different times of the day. And it generates strong flow.

citan-uzuki: This little Hygger wave pump is a very good value. Don't let anybody tell you that it takes $300 to build a good wave pump.

The Hygger pump is low on features. As you would expect at this price. But a wave pump is a wave pump. They are propellers used to move the water inside a fish tank. The level of quality and features differ greatly among the price points. But they all function the same way. This Hygger device will move water as well as any pump of the same size. What you get in the more expensive device is a better build quality and more features. This one does not have WiFi. It has no App control. All of the control are on the included console.

I use this pump to add movement to a 20-gallon long. I have it on the lowest setting. This tank has three filter-feeding shrimp. They grab moving particles from the water and eat it. The particles have to be tiny. Flakes and crushed flakes are too big. I needed enough water movement to keep the food powder in circulation. This Hygger pump does just that at its lowest setting. Too bad Hygger does not make a smaller pump.

Setting the power levels, wave modes, and frequencies will take a little getting used to. There...
