Hygger Quiet Magnetic Aquarium Wavemaker for a Peaceful Aquatic Environment

J. G.: This wave maker has some nice features. Different time settings and wave options. However, only lasted 1 year for me. I’ve seen other reviews say this as well, so not sure if this was a bad batch.

E. E. Campbell, III: First of all, if you're on the fence between the 1600 and the 2600, get the 2600. You can dial down the big one for a correct flow, but to ramp up an undersized one may lead to an early failure, and if you've had fish for any time at all, you know what I'm talking about. I had a NERO 3, which I really liked for every reason, but at 18 months it expired. When I saw the new price and weighed it against life expectancy, the answer was to be found in a different product. I chose the Hygger based on reviews as well as my experience with their lighting, as well as a price of less than half of the previous pump. The HG951/2600 comes pretty much pre-programmed for a days' cycle, once you enter your local time. The business of the lights and strengths, wave period etc., is something you can get to if you feel like it, but if you just run with the factory setup, you should be ok. The only things I would change are 1) I would like the power adapter to have a pigtail so it takes up less space on a power strip, and 2) the cord from the power adapter to the controller is about 3 ½ feet long, or so, and I wish they had split the difference with the line from the controller to the pump which is...

Christian K.: Very nice flow for small tanks. But tricky to get the best spot for the most coverage since it’s not adjustable. Nice price and easy to setup. Cables are nice and long so you can easily route them into your cabinet to hide the controller

Jamesmadere: Great wave maker a little hard to figure out reading the instructions that come with it but if you google it there are videos that will help you set it up and once you learn how to it's quite easy to use.

Chasbeaux: This little wavemaker is almost perfect. Although, I’m worried about it’s longevity. I purchased a couple of these back in June and already one of them is troubled with issues. Sometimes it runs perfectly and suddenly it will stop working. I usually just unplug it and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. Once energized, it works like new again until I change its settings. I normally only turn it off using the presets for feeding and that doesn’t seem to trigger the problem of it shutting down. However, if I try and changes the wave function, that’s when the troubles begin. It took a while for me to figure it out but once I started unplugging it and basically resetting it has become only a minor nuisance. I wish I had read through all the reviews but I was in a hurry and now I’m stuck with these two. I’m sure that the other one will start to act up soon. This would be a near perfect wavemaker if it didn’t glitch! I’m going to try and keep it going for as long as possible. I will edit if and when it bites the dust. Awesome when it’s running!!

MattMatt: Easy setup. Perfect for a small tank. No complaints at all.
EDIT. - just under a year of use it has lost its power. Doesn’t make any water movement anymore.
Even with regular monthly maintenance.
I’m sad because when it was working it was perfect.
