Lyra KitsuneLyra Kitsune: I bought this product "Hygger 9W Aquarium Light - 12-18" " since the start of July; July 1, 2023. It's now September 9, 2023, I've been using it for a while for my plants. My current setup is a Aqueon Standard 10 Gallon; my live plants are Ludwigia Repens + Palustris, Anubias Nana, Rotala Rotundifolia, Hornwort, Water Sprite, & Java Moss.
This product is really great! It grows my plants really well for a decent amount of money and my Ludwigias/Rotala/W.S is growing the fastest with liquid fertilizer: SeaChem Flourish/Iron.
However, I do find that it can grow algae & I'm currently seeing white algae on my plants. In addition, the light can be too bright for the betta and Anubias varieties, recently had to move the A. Barteri to a temporary housing setup for a rescue betta.
The temperature isn't too bad for a light, mildly warm; the timer is also decent, 6, 8, or 12 hours. Currently, I'm using the 8 hour option, but the lighting adjustability can be counted by 4s, 4 is the highest lighting available. Using 3 so the algae won't break out, but floating plants are recommended for bettas or dimmed lights. I do worry about the stability of the lights because they "dip"...

Amazon Customer: Ordered this two days ago and it just came in! Wicked fast shipping! Now, the light… it is perfect! I have a 75 gallon tank and my original light broke. I was on the hunt, making many stops at pet store looking for a bulb, that led me to Amazon! I am so happy with this light! It is adjustable with interchangeable brackets, love the light dimming settings, the color choices and the fact that it is thin! My old light was one of those original fish tank lights that was bulky with the long light tube. I hated it! But this one, slim, thin and very appealing to the eye! Definitely would but again and I recommend this light all day, everyday!

Steve: I like this unit. It is nice and bright, even on the lower settings, so as the LEDs start to fade I should be able to just select the next higher setting and get more time out of it. I am not happy with the fact that when using the 24 hour timer the lights don't actually turn off, they just get dim, but I can live with that. The reason I deducted a start is because the 24-hour timer is only 23 hours and 55 minutes, so by the end of the week the lights are turning on 1/2 hour earlier than I want them too. This means every week I need to manually turn the lights off and back on to reset the timer. Irritating.

TIMER FUNCTION - ZERO STARS Whats to rate???? It's a OFF timer like the Sleep function on your TV in 1972. Not a feature to brag about man, more like pimple your trying to hide. Heres the feature: You can turn it OFF in 3 hours, you can turn it OFF in 6 hours, and wait for it......you can turn it off in yes.....12 friggin hours. NICE. Oh yeah AND you can turn it OFF in NOT NEVER! hours. so.....friggin.....cool...........I Wanna do it again tomorrow, yup, press the stupid button again for 3,6,or 12. not programmable captain.
WATER RESISTANCE - ZERO STARS - Its going to be around water, near water or within inches of water right? I dont want water resistance, I want water proof. Its not. I sealed mine up with aquarium silicone around the edges for my case only. I broke the rules. No tank lid and it's extended like a ballerina on a tight rope, because my tank is a too long for the size i got. My junk is hanging by metal wires one inch above certain electrfying death. The longer one is too long and that is just plain ugly. I don't buy ugly on purpose. Aesthetics over...
