mk: We have hot, upstairs bedrooms in the summer. No indoor air conditioning. I considered a portable AC but wanted something more natural, less noisy, less expensive. Reading up on evaporative coolers, this one stood out for cost, capabilities and reviews. We weren't disappointed.

These are basically fans using water and ice packs. This one has multiple functions: 3 speed fan, very convenient cooling setting- put a gallon of water(we use distilled since our water is so hard) and frozen ice packs(they provide 4, but you can use your own or ice cubes) in the bottom back. You can set to oscillate back and forth, set 2 different program modes to imitate the wind blowing or to get you ready for sleep or just normal fan. Also set the timer for how many hours you want. The control panel gently lights up to see your buttons but otherwise there's no obtrusive, unwanted light.

The unit is well built, works well, looks stylish. It isn't silent since it is using a fan. My wife who is noise sensitive liked the unit but not the noise at first. It has, in my opinion, a mild fan sound. Definitely, not anywhere near as loud as a portable AC box. My teen daughter loves it, confiscating...

Meesha: I wanted to give this 5 stars. To understand the 1-star rating, I have to break this down.
We have never had an air conditioner. We have little to no humidity. To cool us off, we use fans. A ceiling fan, two large floor fans, two medium box fans and assorted small fans. They are placed in or by windows during the night and when the sun comes out, we shut the windows and let them continue blowing the cold air. They are on 24-7 in the summer. We open the windows at night and let them suck the cold air in - full blast. The result has been temperatures closer to 50. That was our setup. It mostly works unless we have several super-hot days. However, we the fans are loud, inconvenient to walk around, and we heard other people say they were REALLY good and kept them cool.

First, we put the unit in the kitchen. When we plugged it in after filling it up, including ice cubes from our freezer - only lukewarm air came out. We decided to try again in the morning, reasoning that we needed the four small 'ice' containers to be frozen. Ice cubes are not enough to make this blow cool.

We tried again. I closed off more doors that were open in hopes it would help keep temperatures...

Gcys76: The media could not be loaded.  I bought this evaporator air cooler because my house doesn’t have central AC. Now that we are in summer it is getting hotter and difficult to sleep in a hot room. I love this high fresh evaporator cooler! It works great! It cooled off my bedroom so much and made it so much easier to sleep at night. Even without the ice packs in the water it blows cool air when adding the ice packs it is nice and cold. The remote control and unit itself is easy to use also it’s powerful blower help circulate the cool air is blowing especially on Osculate.It is also a very quiet unit and doesn’t make a lot of noise.

RonRon: Well after 3 days of my procurement and observation of my air cooler, I came to say that I was very impressed and satisfied, with the performance, along with the user friendly buttons, and last but not least, the remote control that comes with it. My biggest selling point was the 4 ice packs that was included in the package. I can use one half of it in the machine, and when its gets done, I can switch one out for the other half. I wish more companies would have been like you guys being two steps ahead in that regard. I highly recommend it to anyone that lives in the Western U.S., especially in apartment buildings, to obtain one. It does works wonders and it's very cost effective in comparison to an window or portable Air Conditioner, which by the way, requires you to pay additional fees to your landlord every month. With an portable evaporative air cooler, you don't have to worry about that situation, because it does come with an water tank that supplies the cooling. Great Job !!!👍👍

Stacie: Pros: very sleek and stylish design. It is also very tall and powerful. Cool features with the different settings. It blows cooler air instead of circulating hot air around a room. Very quiet.

Cons: the air is cool but not cold by far. It only slightly lowered the temp in my bedroom I’m still very hot. It came damaged. The base was very warped and I was not able to assemble it properly but at least I got it to stand. The remote was also defective. When I press the button on the remote to change the fan speed the fan shuts off.
