The PetSafe Solvit PupSTEP Wood Pet Stairs are the perfect solution for your furry friends! These foldable stairs are designed for both cats and dogs, and come in a convenient X-Large size. Our cat stairs and steps are praised for their easy assembly, superior build quality, attractive design, and maneuverability. Give your pet the freedom to explore with the PetSafe Solvit PupSTEP Wood Pet Stairs!Alex: This product looks much better than the plastic or soft alternatives but makes it so much easier for the pups to get up onto our bed or the couch. It’s also super sturdy, so the dogs never worry about the stairs slipping on them. The only thing is it can be tougher to clean given the smaller and felt like surface.

Stephanie Mealing: Our 12 year old has terrible arthritis and needs help to get in to our bed. Once my husband stabilized the steps with non-skid pads, they work great for her. She uses them to go up and down. We found that just putting the stairs by the bed for a few days, she started using them on her own. Very helpful product for older dogs.

Cory Brickner: Our dog is 14 and given the hight of our bed, we purchased these so she didn't have to jump on the bed. Firstly, given the price, we expected a little bit higher quality product. Our first package arrived destroyed but it was taken care of by Amazon with zero issues. The wood is a good color and that's mainly why we purchased it. Unfortunately, the folding option creates a bit of a wobbly and insecure experience on carpet. Also, while the stairs are carpeted, it's fairly rough but at the same time slippery, and really doesn't provide much traction for old paws. Think swimming pool house industrial carpet.
It just barely does what it needs to do. Our girl honestly doesn't like using these but she's able to manage it. There's definitely room for improvement in this design to make it more secure and comfortable.

Skilford: Very sturdy, wide steps and not too steep for my bulldog.

LindaSpike: I thought I was buying the smaller version but because they’ve changed the company name of smaller I ordered incorrectly.
I kept the larger one because it works for little our dog to climb up on the bed by himself. He’s slightly handicapped- back legs are weak.
Be sure to measure because this large set has a greater distance between each riser - it’s wider and takes up lots of floor space. And a good way to break your toe in the dark…😏

A. ParrisA. Parris: I initially ordered these because I "had" to do something...my cat is getting old..I had been lifting her up onto the bed but when she jumped down the stress and impact on her old joints just sent a chill through me. I ordered them and waited...they arrived and were set up in seconds...(so easy) I placed a piece of food on each step and encouraged her to come for the treat. In less than 2 days she was using the stairs all the time...she had a bit of trouble remembering to use them to come down because painful or not she had been doing that on her own...so I made sure to be there when she needed to come down...it was just a matter of re-wiring her thinking...she was jumping down out of habit...so with redirection again...she came down by using the stairs...best best very best thing I could have bought her...to thank her for all those years BUT I almost made the mistake of ordering the Large size...these are EXTRA Large...seemed I counldn't possibly need the extra large ones for a cat...when these are good for dogs too...but you do...in order to reach the height required for them to access your bed you need to have the extra large...I am sending a picture with this review....wish I...

Alison: I bought this so my dog who just had surgery could eventually use the stairs so I wouldn't have to lift 85lbs on and off the bed every day. Luckily (though I' sure she doesn't agree) it was NOT my dog who just had surgery that this collapsed under. This other dog is 89lbs. The set of stairs is supposed to hold up to 200lbs. That backing piece only has 2 metal nubs that fit into holes on the inside of the stairs with what looks like something that is supposed to be a stabilizer flap pressing against it. When the stairs did arrive, one of those holes looked really roughed up so I blame myself for not sending this back right away, but the back piece did appear to fit how it should anyways. HOWEVER, not only have I been given options by Amazon, after contacting Solvit I was VERY impressed with the level of customer service I received and the genuine concern shown to me by David. I can return the defective product to Amazon and David from Solvit is sending me the plastic version of these stairs expedited and completely free of charge while I decide whether or not I wish exchange the wooden stairs for a new one. This shows me that Solvit truly stands behind their products. The plastic...

Peter P Parkafarker: After having tried MANY pet steps, we found a winner!!! All the stairs we tried were just too short for our Mini Schnauzer to reach our bed without jumping from the last step. Plus, he wouldn't walk down them at all. The first step was too far down from the edge of the bed. We bought the steps so that he wouldn't constantly jump off of the bed and we wouldn't have to lift him up each night. Constant jumping off the bed will affect his hips long term.
Our dog is 16 pounds. Can't say how it would work with a large dog. I would think it would work well. It is VERY sturdy. Plus, it looks good with our bed.
I had read some of the negative reviews and was hesitant to buy this. I bought a smaller version at Pet Smart from the same manufacturer and it wasn't great quality. This is. It is heavy and the front legs latch solidly.
As I said, not sure how it will work for a large dog. But, I think it will be fine. Granted, this isn't from a fine furniture line. They are dog stairs after all. But it does look good with our bedroom furniture
Pros:
It is very sturdy walking up. No shaking or moving at all. That will freak a dog out and you will have a hard time...

A Long-time Prime Person: 2-22-13. The company must have solved the past quality issues or many past reviews were way off base. The stairs arrived in their own factory box on time. The box was damaged in shipping with several gouges and tears but the stairs were fine. The stairs are strong, the look (style) is high-end, like Frontgate at a 4th the cost, looks very nice with their dark stain, cloth, and finish; kind of between Walnut and Mahogany stain. The stair fabric does look like pool table fabric, but that is OK and works well, and the front, vertical, kick boards, that are not affected by dog feet, are about 1/8" veneered plywood (no problem). The stairs are very stable and even have a wedge-gravity-lock, no wiggle, and my 13lb (long) Havanese had no problem getting up and down while being coaxed with Stewart's freeze dried liver treats, which he loves and Amazon carries (very highly recommend, too). I have no 'beefing up to do to it. It is a very good price for what you get. You could tack new carpet to the stairs if needed to raise each step a little and add more traction. One suggestion is to extend future steps out about 4-6 inches for the length of dogs. This fit my 33" tall bed at 25" and...

Josh boyle: Liked how they are carpeted so dogs won’t slip. Used these for my dog to get up on our bed. Didn’t take long to train her to use them
