Li: Love this little air purifier, love that you don't need to ever replace the filter - it is permanent and just needs vacuuming every week or so. It does collect dust and helpful if you suffer from allergies. Love the price too.

shane: Just received it and it appears as described. Will it minimize dust in my room? Only time will tell. I have a much larger floor model that uses furnace type filters like this one. Yes, there is still dust in the room but the build up is far slower than other rooms. The filter gets very dirty over time so the unit obviously pulls stuff out of the air that would have settled otherwise. This little unit is the same principal, so expecting it to do it's job as intended. I'm using it in a small office so we will see if it keeps dust levels down. I will update this review if it turns out negative. Otherwise no news is good news.
Big bonus that this unit uses filters than can be reused. That saves a lot of money. Eventually, filter will need replacing but not nearly as often as others that are expensive.
Quiet mode is exactly that. Quiet. I held a kleenex up to the unit and it did draw it towards the unit and held it. So even at slowest speed there is air movement through the filter and will grab particles. I run it 24/7 as the room is filled with collectibles I do not want to have to dust regularly.

I found 2 replacement filters for $25 as opposed to others almost $40 each....

Reader101: 5 stars all around: I had so much fur from my husky pup floating in the air and making me sick.(Not to play the blame game as i am allerguc to high quantities of dust as well). As soon as i turned this on i could see it drawing fur into its opening. This made me know it was working. I turned it on wisper quiet and i thought i had it turned off (that's how silent it was!). On the medium setting it is still more quiet than a ceiling fan and a stand up fan. I'm curious to see how much this will catch in a day. Already my room isnt as stuffy.

So after less than 5 hours i opened it up outta curiosity and there was a ton more fur than i thought there'd be. Kinda ughhh to know thats what I've been breathing. This was very easy to vacuum with my crevice attachment (Eureka blaze vacuum). Love how amazon offers extra warranty on this as I'd definitely want this to last a long time. Lastly this thing also doubles as a fan (on the highest setting) lol. It lets out a nice and cool, consistent stream of clean air from the vents on each side.

I will updste my review if need be and for a long experience opinion. Please note i also use a humidifier as well to put some moisture back...

I have been having a really hard time sleeping through the night without wheezing and a runny nose, and this is even as I am taking Zyrtec daily. I looked online for some solutions to dealing with pet allergies, and I soon discovered that I needed an air cleaner.

As I was searching through Amazon for the perfect air cleaner, I was looking for one in about the $50 range (after all, I had never even used an air cleaner before) for a medium-sized bedroom, that had a permanent filter. I was drawn to this Hamilton Beach model because of the price, the permanent filter, its light weight, and its quiet settings. I have been using this unit for four days now, and I am very impressed with it.

-It is extremely light - I move it around our bedroom every few days to make sure it is reaching all of the air. It is also small and does not take up a lot of space.
-In my opinion, it is very quiet. In fact, on the Whisper Clean setting, it is actually so quiet that I have checked a few times to make sure that it is on. The medium setting sounds like a fan set on low/medium, and the Quick Clean (high)...

Comdet: Bottom line: A very nice performing air cleaner for the price and has reasonably priced replacement filters. It's virtually the same as the Allergen-Reducing model except that this one comes with carbon filters for odor reduction. This model is the better choice if you are looking to reduce odors as well as dust.

I needed an air cleaner for my office to help get rid of the smell of smoke (been cutting back, but still can't kick the habit). I've been using a Holmes air cleaner than helps, but the office is big enough than a second one was needed.

I saw this and the Hamilton Beach 04383 True Air Allergen-Reducing Air Cleaner and could not determine from looking at them what the difference was (other than a price difference). After doing some research on the Hamilton Beach web site it appears they are exactly the same except that the Pet model has the ability to use a replaceable carbon filter in front of the HEPA filter.

The unit itself is nicely designed, and I very much like that it can be used either upright or on its side. It comes with a base plate if you want to use it upright. The plate comes off easily (no tools) so you can position it on...
