UsuallyRight: This is the second batch of water filters we have bought from Waterdrop. The filter is for our GE side/side refrigerator freezer, which has an ice maker and water dispenser. We use the water dispenser to fill our water bottles. The ice made and the water dispensed taste good and have no detectable odors. The supplier provides date labels so you can reference the date of replacement. The manufacturer reports the filters are tested and have passed water quality tests, as do most of the major manufacturers. The replacement requires a strong hand to back out the old filter and an easier twist to install the replacement. The replacements, in my experience, don't leak or drip...and are worry-free.

FunWithBono: I was looking for a lower-cost alternative to the standard "GE" OEM MWF filter about a year ago and switched to "Glacier Fresh" brand. They worked fine and my water tasted great! I typically change my filter every 4 months regardless of my reset light illuminating; I just like great-tasting water.
I live rural being well-surrounded by a large farming and lakes community. Despite having a very deep well, I've had concerns about the water-table levels depleting in the region from intermittent drought; pesticides and herbicides became the primary concern. I was debating whether I should just splurge on the premium GE MWFP or shop a budget-friendly alternative that is also certified to the NSF/ANSI 401/53/42 standard(s). After much research (they're all made in China regardless), I elected to try the "WaterDrop plus WDP-F13". I verified their certification via NSF and the reviews were impressive. Here's some observation and tips that WaterDrop recommended with their included instructions when replacing the filter.
