South Jersey RN: This tool is so sturdy and easy to use! The design works so much better than using a shovel, it's incredibly easier to cut through the soil and get a clean line. I'm a senior citizen and this tool makes work easier and much faster than using shovels. Highly recommend!

carefulShopper: I've researched & tried quite a few manual edgers for use around flower beds & sidewalks. Most were semi-circles or straight square blades. Some had saw tooth edges to supposedly cut thru small roots & other were smooth. In all situations, using them in moist soil is best,... like after a modest rain or even a downpour & muddy soil. In mud the square blade obviously goes into the soil but roots easily stop progress.
Surprisingly the saw tooth blade with a shaft in the middle really didn't do much better at all. All those required placing my foot on the right side then on left side to push blade into the soil. The creates a rocking motion on one side then the other. This does not work very well at all.
But the Garden Weasel is diff. Foot goes into the middle & all the power is transferred straight downward with no side rocking motion. CHOP! It goes right thru soil & slices thru roots much better & I have great results. All my power & weight it planted downward right in the center of the blade,... smart engineering.
This makes it easy to create a good edge line. TIP: after stomping down I usually wiggle it sideways a couple times,...
